MmmMonsterMunch The dizzy heights of 19th! Nice to hit the 50 points I guess.

No reason why we can't get circa 60 points next season. I think that would count as a decent season all things being equal.

In the end NINE points clear of the drop and a Wembley Semi-Final

16 shots, 7 on target - must be the best stats all season

I refer the Pog apologists to today's performance. Pace and penetration and not a long-ball in sight. No lumbering Russian to slow things down, no excuse to go long, no excuse to put cross-after-cross into the box. We're better off without him.

Lets not oversimplify things. Long balls start at the back not with the Striker, i would have favored Pogrebnyak to do well today too. We were penetrating largely due to Derby's desperate ineptness playing an unfamiliar formation.

After the first 2 minutes i wasn't overly impressed by Appiah either.

^^ agree on both points

After the second minute it was like we were playing without a striker. Weirdly that style of play is the kind of thing Pog would thrive on, yet as soon as he's in the team we pump it long. Has ever been thus and has never made sense

Interestingly, Dave-Royal is a 'COPPA' user, meaning his parents had to provide permission to allow him to sign up, as he's under 13 years of age

Can't say I'm surprised....

There's a step when you signed up, to say if you're under/over 13, you selected under 13. So you're either under 13 or more stupid than we could ever have imagined

When we played them in the cup they rested players to focus on the league and we knocked them out.

Fast forward to today and that decision definitely worked out!

Ian Harte is really milking the Bournemouth celebrations when he's played a whopping 4 times this season.

Looked a great performance on the TV, the sort that teams who have nothing to play for can produce when all the pressure is on the opponent.

This has been a terrible season, the unexpected bonus of FA Cup run notwithstanding, and at no point in the League could it in anyway be described as enjoyable.

There were some pin pricks of light leading to a degree of optimism for next season; the emergence of some of the academy players into fully fledged first teamers, the development of others so that they may be ready in the next season, Jem's return from injury, the performance in the semi-final, and the departures of Drenthe, Guthrie and Adkins.

What happens next is key; will Clarke be given some money to invest, or will it all have to come from moving on bigger earners? I just hope that he has the opportunity to take this Reading side by the scruff of it's neck and get it back to a position where we should be competing for play off positions or better next season.
