"Arsenal have made another acquisition for their new scholarship intake after completing the signing of Reading youngster Jordi Emmanuel.

The prospect has been with Reading for eight years but is excited to be joining up with Arsenal’s new batch of scholars.

Probably happened following McDermott's recommendation to Arsenal.

Can't blame the lad for jumping at it. Even if he doesn't make the grade there, he will learn a great deal more from experience at a club like Arsenal.

From what I researched, it looks like we get about 100k up front with a potential maximum of £1.3m based on appearances and a 20% sell on fee if he is sold before he turns 24.

This is annoying, we finally produce a left back who looks like he has some potential and he jumps ship.

We get some compensation. It isn't much, but it's better than spending three years paying for his development only for him to not make it. That's pretty much the most optimistic spin I can put on it. Oh, and at least it isn't McIntyre.

Not sure it's the right move for his career but good luck to him all the same, hope we nab him back in a few years.
