Record Watch 2015/16

by Franchise FC » 10 Aug 2015 12:23

13 wins & 106 points - here we go again !!

I'm pleased to see Chelsea & Arsenal fall so early in the wins department, although Man City, Man Utd and (potentially) Liverpool are an annual concern. (Leicester, West Ham, Aston Villa, etc. , a bit like an Australian batsman, shouldn't trouble the scorers)

No idea about the rest of the divisions until at least the end of August.

If anybody is going to beat either record it would almost certainly be from one of the lower divisions.

If you go on ppg given the difference in division side, sadly Chelsea have already broken 106... possibly others have too.

Shhhhhh about that though.

If you convert from the 2pts for a win era, we only share the record with Lincoln City. But we'll forget all about that.

We lost our first home league game away 2-1, so we currently have an identical record to our record 106 season. 10 years on (was it *really* 10 years ago  )

I can't see why. You've put "potentially" but then surely any team is potentially a concern. They've not struck me recently as a team that could put that kind of run together. When I say recently, I mean over the last 25 years.

I believe it's the record watch for the number of points and wins at the start of the season for the professional leagues in England.

If it's pissing you off that can only be seen as a bonus.

I can't recall us playing many of our home league games away.

So you don't recall the 9 game winning streak that got them to within a slip of the Premier League title

We lost our first game 2-1 that season yes, but it was at home to Plymouth and not away from home like this season.

Can't believe it was 10 years ago either

Could it still be an omen? I'm guna believe that it is 8)

We also didn't deserve to lose that game either. I remember walking out of the ground at the end of the game and immediately calling my mate telling him if we play like that all season we're going up. 8)

Under normal circumstances I'd wait for 5 games but 90 of the 92 have already helped maintain our record position.

Only Man City and Leyton Orient (again) to go.

Leyton Orient were at it a couple of seasons ago - they may be the big threat

Yes - I breathed a huge sigh of relief as Liverpool narrowly missed out on beating our record failing by a mere 11 games.
