I suspect it's something to do with us having won the championship a couple of times in the last decade, where Brighton have had two playoff semi-final failures and not spent a season in the top flight since the '80s. We're a bit more proven than they are.

Royalcop First day at the club and he's gone full Matt Mills already, unbelievable.

You missed the question before he took the picture :

"Matty, how many goals per half are you going to get this season ?"

Corrected for you.

I much prefer your version.

Mid Sussex Royal More from the Brighton site

"Continuing a rather irritating habit of signing players we would like to sign - Sidwell, Ingmarson, Bridge and now Vydra"

I ****ing hate Reading. ****ing upstarts. Get back to Elm park... :D

Maybe they should look a little closer to home and try the fathom out actually WHY these players prefer to come here rather than their shithole?

It's most probably the £££££££££s.

Interesting in so much as they seem to know for certain that the eventual price will be £10m should we get promotion and trigger the option to buy. Personally I can't see us bidding more than the £5.5 they recently paid for him (almost can't believe I'm saying well pay that much for a player), especially as we're supposedly paying £2.5 for him this season.

BTW do we know for certain that he's on £100k/week or is that just conjecture?

£100k a week for a striker who's scored 3 goals in a major top flight is ludicrous. So it's probably true.

I read it that the poster's estimate of 100k per week took into account us paying Vydra's wages and the 2.5m loan fee for 1 season. Maybe I read it incorrectly.

The £10m fee is just a rumour.

The "£100k a week" is based on us paying £3.5m plus his wages for a year. That puts his wages at about £32k per week, which if true puts him ahead of Roberts but behind Guthrie and Pogrebnyak in terms of wages. Seems unlikely. In any case, the loan fee probably isn't £3.5m - most places are reporting £2.5m. That works out at more like £80,000 per week, assuming we have him for 12 months. If we have him for 9 months (1 September - 1 June) then it creeps back up to around £100k per week.

Suggest you read the post again. The total weekly cost could be £100k but that is with speculation on the wages side and, to an extent the £2.5m fee. Watford supporting mate reckons Deeney is the highest paid player at WFC and on around £50k pw and Vydra probably around £30k so the £100k doesn't stack up.

The actual post:

Dont think Reading are that flushed with funds at the moment take Vydras wages into account and you are looking at £100,000 a game?

If we are getting that no matter what, that is a good bit of business.

Post quoting/estimating £100k per game. wages/loan fee.

Well, £2.5m already accounts for just shy of £61k. That £100k reeks of a very made up figure anyway.

As the deal is said to be plus the players wages then it would be circa £100k. Worth it if we get the 20+ goals and a tally of assists from him.
