CONFIRMED - Michael Hector to Chelsea

by palacefaninpeace » 21 Aug 2015 13:22

Appreciate this may not go down well.

There has been some talk on our message boards that a deal for hector is in the works.
Wondering if
a)Anyone here has heard similar
b)You rate him highly
C) He would command a big fee.

Remember him playing very well against arsenal, but im afraid thats all ive seen of him.

Here is a link to the thread on our forum.

In addition to this a few of our ITKs have suggested he is a big target.

I live in Beckenham so spend a lot of Tim with palace fans. Honestly its a bit early for him but I suppose you do need a CB. Would have thought you would be more wary of signing reading players?

Yeh what i thought really.
I know one person with a reading season ticket who rates him very highly.

Would of prefered a curtis davies, but i guess Hector has time on his side.

Any idea what sort of fee he would command?

No point asking us what fee we'd want, it's got nothing to do with us.
Can't see why we would sell him, and he's shown no desire to move.
I'd say it would be a pretty poor option for him currently and there's not been a single peep round here.

Signed a new contract in June http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... or-9367496
Our DOF is renowned for getting every last penny when selling key players, and considering the sort of silly money being banded around by championship clubs for championship players atm i would expect a hefty fee let alone a premier club wanting a championship player. We have no need to sell, i believe our finances have improved and are stable. Realistically considering he has 3 years left, £5 million, knowing hammond though a club record 8mill wouldn't be out of the question imo

Maybe Palace could take another RFC player who wants to play central position?
i.e. HRK

Would say you would be looking at £6m+ given his contract status and age.

Has the potential to be very good but you could get better that him for that cost who could get in your team now and not in 12/18 months time.

If Andre Gray is worth £9m then we'd have every right to charge the same. Different positions but Hector has potential to go further in the game IMO.

cant really see Clarke letting him go even if there was any truth in this and i'd also like us to keep him but if we was offered anything near 5million!! I'd like to think we would then be able to go and grab beric straight away then use cooper as back up to anton and mcshane

4-8 million imo
decent, will only get better, but young, so inconsistent and still some work to be done with his decision making.

would be moderately gutted if he went, but for a decent wedge id bid him farewell with a wave and a cheery smile, and wish him all the best

Have heard rumours Palace placed a 3m bid already for him. I believe we told them that was some way short of the mark, so far they haven't indicated they will be back.

If you didnt believe me....
http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... ce-new-bid

'Palace are still in the market for new players before the transfer window closes. They have been tracking Reading central defender Michael Hector and are keen to push through a deal this month.'

Only signed a new deal 2 months back. Still if the money is good then I'd be tempted to cash in.
