Zamora with the late BHA goal - just like 2001/02 all over again.

What, like we did two games ago against Middlesbrough? And against Burnley, Bristol City, Ipswich, Brentford, and Portsmouth?

Ouroboros Surprised to see the Milers start Green and bench Maguire.

Bad experience, Mags?

tmesis
sandman Dellor, What a div.

any comment in particular, or are you just hoping to start a discussion?

In case anyone is interested, today was the 28th time we have fielded 9 different nationalities in our starting League 11. We have yet to start with 10 different.

The first was 05/12/2009. ALso found 2 in the LC (1st on 20/09/2005) and 1 in the FAC (27/01/2007).

I think I have found a 10 in the FAC match on 09/01/2007 - Australia, Cameroon, England (x2), Iceland, Ireland, Nigeria, South Korea, USA, Wales and Ecuador.

Yes, I am interested. thanks for these continuing pieces of information.

Apologies if this has been asked before but what is the highest number of 'home grown' players in a match?

Depends on what is meant by "home grown". Could be taken as Academy Graduates, or maybe those born in an around Reading.

I think we once had 14 of the 18 match day squad graduating from the Academy. Sounds too many to be fair, so here goes - correct please as you see fit:

Starting -
Federici - ex Academy (bit of stretch I think but factually correct)
Gunter
Hector - ex Academy
Pearce - ex Academy
Obita - ex Academy
Edwards (Ryan) - ex Academy
Kuhl - ex Academy
Norwood
Taylor (Jake) - ex Academy
Cox - ex Academy
Mackie

Bench:
Akpan
Tanner - ex Academy
Cooper - ex Acadmey
Long (Sean) - ex Academy
Stacey - ex Academy
Fosu - ex Academy
Andersen - ex Academy

So 8 of the 11 starters and 6 of the 7 on the bench! For the record, we won 1-0 at Middlesbrough! We were actually missing 12 first XI players. Aside from Akpan, the bench totalled 0+4 RFC 1st class appearances.

The previous Saturday we also had 8 ex Academy starting, but "only" 5 on the bench. No other instances I can find of 8 or more ex Academyt starters, but we have had 2 complete 7 man benches comprised of ex Academy players, 16/08/14 and 26/08/14. You have to feel for Adkins!

In comparison, last night we had 1 ex Academy starter, (Hector), and 3 more on the bench, (Obita, Cooper and Moore. I'm not including Liburd as "Academy" as he is "Development")
