Blackman was about as involved in the game as Pearce.

Agent Blackman seems to be doing his job and destroying Derby's promotion hopes. Just a shame we are not likely to be the beneficiaries of their implosion.

I would absolutely love it if Derby didn't finish in the playoffs again.

Derby appear to be doing the same as last sason and fading away despite looking the best side in the division for the first half of the season (same as last time).
It is always a quandary for a manager of a team going well-do you stick with what you have got (camaraderie etc.) or do you try to give yourself an even better chance of promotion but risk losing what got you into the good position in the first place?
Brighton have brought in Wilson, Knockaert and now Sidwell to try to get back on track and ' Boro are desperate to get Rhodes or MacCormack.

One of the most famous instances was in the late 60s when City were pushing for the title, brought in Rodney Marsh (a very good player at Fulham or was it QPR?) as an expensive transfer and it upset the balance of the side.
The same seems to be happening at Derby with Blackman coming in.
I actually think that Derby need a better centre-back and left-back but so often managers want to buy attacking players when , from the outside, it looks as though they need defenders (Norwich and Bournemouth also being similar examples).

Good luck to Blackman-he has gone to a club geared up for the Premier League off the pitch but maybe still a bit short on it.
We have copped some decent money so let's hope it is put to good use.

He made no impression in the Cup game. Substituted early.

How come Blackman didn't play tonight? He wasn't cup tied, was he?

Played 60 minutes and was subbed.

Much as he played for Reading except out on the left. Offered no defensive cover. Doesn't impose himself on the game or get actively involved.

Didn't watch much of the game, although did catch whoever the expert was providing statements of the obvious between bursts of commentary saying how impressed he was with Blackman just as he was substituted.

Thought I heard his substitution being cheered on the radio

Looked to work quite hard. Had a couple of chances but looked selfish on the ball still

I work with someone in Manchester who comes from Bury and knows the family, they are Man Yoo fans apparently, including Nick, so you would have thought he would have been really up for playing his boyhood heroes last night.

He was one of their more lively players and had a couple of chances, one that wasn't too far away.

Overall United shut Derby down very well.

That's rubbish.
He's a professional footballer.
Rooney still puts in a (fat) shift against Everton.
If anything he'd try even harder in the hope they might sign him
