Smithy We should go all out and go for warburton

ASDA do it for £1. Might be a bit steep but we could probably stretch to get it if we sold Gunter.

Faithful Son
Extended-Phenotype Moyes would be ace.

Stam: I just don't get the excitement on here. If you didn't know his name, you all would be wondering what the fcuk our owners were doing bringing in a manager of zero experience or success. Everyone has t start somewhere but do we really want to be a stepping stone for an untried manager who has probably never heard of Reading?

Was far happier with the proven track record and loyal longevity of McDermott, even if his start was as poor and slow as Clarke's and Adkins before him.

I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with picking an untried newbie. In fact, some of our most successful managers have had no previous managerial experience (Branfoot, McGhee, Pardew, McDermott). TBH it's pretty much a lottery whichever way you go, especially with a whole bunch of clueless owners running the shop. Say what you like about Sir John but he was a pretty good judge of character and appointed far more good managers than bad.

It's not them being a newbie alone that bothers me. It's them being a newbie AND of star status, with a profile that is bigger than the club. Like I said, if they are successful it's even less likely than normal they will hang around. We will be their test club.

The mismatch in status means it's only record which has them looking at us in the first place.

I'd be very happy with this but why would he leave Rangers? They're a massive club about to embark on the biggest challenge of his latest project...

Pretending to be Dave Rowell might be the least funny thing anyone has ever posted, no doubt it's one of the people who constantly berate Dave's input and accuse him of being someone's second username

Russell Slade exits Cardiff, and looks to be heading to Charlton. Dodged a bullet there then....

When not having a manager is a better option than employing Russell Slade !

Who cares on the manager front - league one here we come regardless of who is in charge with the clowns owning the club.

Have bitten the bullet and not renewed our 4 season tickets today after many years - will come to a few games as I see fit rather than feeling obliged to turn up and watch the tripe that has been served up week in week out for extended periods with such little sign of hope.

ASDA do it for £1. Might be a bit steep but we could probably stretch to get it if we sold Gunter.
