Watson has shown he's ready. Watching him recently you would not have picked him as the inexperienced youngster of the team.
Slightly tempered by the fact that he's not been put under a huge amount of pressure by a decent winger.
3 right backs would be an excess, I'm happy with have Watson to cover right back and Rakells. To cover the left. defence sorted.

Was really impressed with him tonight. Looks so much more comfortable on the ball than Gunter.

But are you as attracted to him as you were to Gunter?

We just conserved energy in the second half. We were so superior to them it was embarrassing. Even with all of our changes.

Looking good.

Feel sorry for Plymouth. They've not won a league cup game away from home since 1990 and have only managed to get beyond the first round that they've entered the thing in twice in the last 20 odd years....

So, where are we on this now? Watson on right with Gunter covering, 3 way fight on left between Gunter, Obita and Rakels?

Haven't seen enough of him to judge, but he did get taken to the Netherlands and got a couple of games out there I think? Though, tbf, that may well have been lack of viable alternatives!

And just checked - he wasn't given a squad number. On the fringes, I guess. But can't be sent out on loan presumably unless we get some more cover in.

He was on the bench last night . He's squad number 22.
