by Nuremberg Royal » 10 Sep 2016 18:08

Who'd have thunk it?
Our next 3 games against Brum, Barnsley and Huddersfield all top of the current table tussles.
Be happy with 7 points from that lot for sure .What do you think ?

Safe to say they wont be the top 3 come end of the season..

7 points would be fantastic.
I would take 5.

I think we can get 10 points under Stam's new philosophy.

Maybe not but Hudderfield are my dark horses for a top 6 spot this season - and not just because they're currently top of the table. They've been improving ever since Wagner took over and absolutely anhialted us at their place last season and with Mooy on loan from City they've got a really good chance to turn good performances into results. Barnsley will be fine. They've got enough goals in the side to not be be involved down the bottom but think the playoffs are too much especially considering the strength of some of the sides.

Tough home game against Brum who we haven't had the best of times against recently.

4 points would be a pretty good return out of this lost imo.

I think you are right to fancy Huddersfield....they seem to have a very strong team ethic installed. I don't see them fading away either. Is that where you see 3 points dropped?

Birmingham we always struggle against, they are an awful bogey team for us. Games are also about as exciting as watching grass grow
Barnsley anything can happen for either side
League wise we are in a quite miserable run of form against Huddersfield so given their current situation that's another crapfest waiting to happen

PS, technically this thread should titled 4 games against the current top 4 as we also have a league cup team against the biggest club in the division - Brighton - who we all know are really a top 2 team let alone top 4.

No, I don't see us getting anything up at Barnsley. I fancy us to be competitive and at least keep it tight at home.

It's a really hard run of games though on current form and I could just as easily see us losing all 3.

I'd take 4 points and unbeaten at home now.

I find these very difficult to predict, I'd be happy with 4 I suppose but I can see us getting all 9 as well, Huddersfield will probably be our toughest match, the Birmingham, then Barnsley. Could be wrong about Barnsley but not impressed so far despite them being up in 3rd, three of their 4 wins have come against teams currently in the bottom 6.

Anything that comfortably keeps us averageing more than a point a game, without losing streaks or long winless streaks is fine by me whilst we keep working on the system. So 2 is tolerable, 4 is good and more is great.

Brum H - D 0-0
Barnsley A - D 2-2
(Brighton L 1-3)
Huddersfield A - L 1-2

Doom on HNA despite us remiaining out of danger at about 15th.

Think it's worth throwing the Brentford away game into the mix as that takes us to 10 games in which was the suggested benchmark to make s more genuine assessment of how we are doing.

Birmingham (H) D 0-0
Barnsley (A) L 3-0
Huddersfield (H) D 1-1
Brentford (A) D 2-2

Looking at the next batch of games we will certainly have a good idea
of how we are going to do over the season. Virtually every game looks losable
and I could see us drawing more than half of them. Only the Rotherham game
looks like a real winning chance (and we lose those too), maybe Burton.

Derby have too many good players to be permanently crap.

13 Games and I could imagine every one drawn. Won't happen, of course, but
looking at the twelve league games I'd be happy with 16 points

13/09 READING v Birmingham (4)
17/09 Barnsley (3) v Reading

20/09 Brighton (13) v Reading (EFL Cup)

24/09 READING v Huddersfield (1)
27/09 Brentford (8) v Reading
01/10 READING v Derby (19)
15/10 QPR (7)v Reading

18/10 READING v Aston Villa (17)
22/10 Rotherham (20) v Reading
29/10 READING v Nottm Forest (10)
05/11 Wigan (21) v Reading
19/11 READING v Burton (14)
26/11 READING v Bristol City (9)

Well if you say so.

Brentford A - W 2-1

It's pretty clear that I expect the majority of our next 13 games to be a draw in normal time

As you're quite dumb, that means 7 or more from 13
