royalp-we Bournemouth are crumbling. Looking poor against Brizzle.

As you were then from us down at least.

Saturday's òpponents have just let in a 90th min goal v Rotherham, to lose. Rotherham had 10 men for last 25mins too.

Breakaway goal from a Wednesday corner apparently.

They are done now I think, or at least one foot in League 1. We need to pile the misery on them on Saturday.

Yep that’s very painful for them. They will come to us on Saturday on a real downer. Must win for us.
As has been mentioned Barnsley have a very good run in. Six wins on the bounce. Cardiff 24 points from 10 games under McCarthy. These two are flying and we cannot assume they will fall away.
Shame Bournemouth got that late goal.

Looking more and more like Norwich as champions with Watford grinding out second place. I would expect Swansea to struggle from here and they may be dragged into a fight for the play offs.

Shouldn’t have been a penalty and the run up from Ayew when he stops before taking the kick shouldn’t be allowed imo

The worse set of results possible, but a long way to go yet.

Frustrating results all round this midweek. I just don’t know how Swansea keep scraping these results. Watford are similar.

Steve Cooper has that kind of face I just want to fill in every time I see it.

TBF the other teams all look better than us. Barnsley Cardiff are banging goals in for fun, Watford are flying and Swansea are digging out wins even they don’t play well. We are running out of steam which is a shame as have been in the top six all season. As it stands I think we will miss out.

Hound
andrew1957 I think Bournemouth could fade away but the form of Barnsley and Cardiff is worrying and Barnsley in particular seem to have played a lot of the top sides already. I think if they win again today they will look pretty nailed on top 6, so we will have to win a lot of games still if we want to join them.

In fact it looks like it could take an unusually high number of points for top 6 as historically 74 is typically enough, but not sure it will be this time. Think we might need to win at least 7 of the last 12.

Just checked Barnsley’s run in. It really is very gentle - would have to back them from here

But it’s the feature of the championship that very difficult to judge how easy a run of games is. Maybe their style suits playing the stronger teams and they will have a poor run now.

I think Bournemouth have more quality & depth than us so we’re the most likely to drop out of the top 6.

However, I can’t see Cardiff & Barnsley carrying on at quite the pace they’re going, so think it’ll go down to the wire between the 3 of us.

Our easier run of games is now, but the run in looks tough

Mr Optimist
Hound Said months ago Norwich were as good as up :)

Comfortably the better side in this one so far

Their shithousery/game management is definitely at Premier League level. I think a 5 year old child could push Pukki over.

Too true
In that respect they look a Prem team. Is this what we aspire to?

It looks tough at the mo but by the time we go to Norwich they'll likely already be Champions and could have switched off.

In the last 6 we also have games v Luton & Huddersfield - hardly tough in paper.

It looks like our season will come down to the away game at Barnsley and the home game v Cardiff. Win one/draw one in any order, we'll get in. Lose one, 50/50, lose both and we're done.

Barnsley have been incredible but the test will be what happens when they next lose, which I'm sure they will. 6 wins in the bounce is fantastic, before that 6 they went W1 D2 L3, which admittedly was against top 6 rivals but they also dropped points v Forest. Long way to go. Despite that run, they are still outside the top 6. If/when they get in here, the pressure changes. Same applies for Cardiff, chasing is often better than maintaining.

Everyone will drop points, we are in a position where we just need to match the results of others.
