YorkshireRoyal99 5 of the bottom 6 all playing today, hopefully if most of them don't pick up results then it will be a good day for us. Blackpool and Huddersfield might fancy their chances being at home.

Time to stop worrying about relegation and focus on wanting teams above us to lose.

Bah, bitesize goals and keep ticking them off. Keep the magic number ticking. Happy to keep looking behind us and seeing relegation further and further away, and more and more teams behind us.

The countdown to safety is fun and a success. Aiming for the POs is just depressing and doomed to failure. The scenarios are:

1) Don't make the Play Offs, feels like a failure if that was your aim
2) Make the POs but lose in them, a success turns failure.
3) Get promoted - have a shit season in the PL, come straight back down and get into further financial difficulty. Boo.

Looking backwards and avoiding relegation = success and every position higher just makes that success bigger... Yay!

You are joking on number 3 ??- how can you get into financial trouble getting into the wealth that is the Premier league. even if relegation comes.

We can always magic number the playoffs from once the magic number for relegation hits 0.

Have you paid any attention to football for the last 20 years? All the PL money goes on salaries and then you get relegated and saddled with overpaid wasters.

How do you think we got into so much trouble? Overpaid PL failures and chasing the dream.

Pretty much any team that gets relegated and doesn't go straight back up goes into financial dificulties.

Only really works if you're above the line otherwise the number is larger than the available points.

Cr&p !! Sensible management would ensure no financial crisis.

Blackburn edge past Cardiff where our old boy Rinomhota came on just before the hour mark and didn't do too much for a uninspiring Cardiff side, although it wasn't a great game in general.

I'm not really focusing on the play offs yet until we get to game 36, by that time if we are sniffing around then I'll take it more seriously, but for now ensuring the teams below us don't gain ground is important when we don't play and when we do we have to do our jobs to ensure we reach 50 points as quickly as possible.

blythspartan If we can survive this season and Southampton get relegated we might be nailed on for promotion next season, LOL.

We have won the Championship on the last two occasions that they’ve either been relegated or promoted back to the Championship.

Saints and Bournemouth getting relegated and us staying up would be ideal for me.

Knowing our luck, IF we were to promoted to "up there". The season we came back down will be the first season when the parachute payments are no longer paid!

None of the bottom three are averaging more than a point per game. Rotherham just above them are in freefall and just about averaging more than a point per game. The talk of needing 55 points to stay up isn't necessary. We will need 50 at the most.

Agreed, we need to win enough games so we are mathematically safe. Then we can’t go down.

Yeah the bottom 4 are really struggling and cardiff and Bristol aren’t much better

Rotherham got an absolute hammering looking at the stats. They’ve been a shambles since Warne left, no doubts they are on their way to their usual yo-yo

1 win in 12 for Rotherham, which was away at Sheff United ironically, so I can see them heading down. Huddersfield's results in the next month might determine their fate, whether they give themselves a chance or will just get stuck in the mud. Wigan looked really bad under Kolo Toure and Blackpool might survive if they sort their injury crisis out and keep hold of their better players in January, but are poor.

Bristol City and Cardiff are probably going to be looking over their shoulders for the rest of the campaign I'd imagine. Hull, Stoke and Birmingham will probably get safe.

Still 10th after today's games and none of bottom sides won and we are still 10 clear heading into tomorrow.

Saw Cardiff earlier on Sky, they have nothing up front and are getting dragged in to it.

Looking at that rule, it is for late payment of transfers, I assume that's to do with the Sala situation?
