Singing Defective
Pepe the Horseman We've absolutely fcuked Port Vale's season. 1 point from 6 games since we got the game abandoned.

I certainly do not wish them ill, but barring tennis balls, would they really have won then?

Probably not. But seems to have sucked out any momentum they had. Could just be an unfortunate coincidence.

They didn't play a game for almost 3 weeks I think which didn't help. Remembered when we had that in the premier league and it killed any momentum we had.

Other end of the division, but Peterborough have 1 point from 5 games. Wtf happened there? Cambridge away on Saturday, their big derby and they're out of form.

Yeah but thats because the EFL don't want them up there and absolutely nothing to do with their awful football being found out a bit.

Even in L1 you can't spend an entire season with about 45% possession and less than 60% pass success and expect to finish top 7.

Simply humping the ball at the box and hoping isn't good enough.

Quite - I mean, they are the only team to meet us twice and not manage a goal - that is pretty poor.

From the above, here are the games against the other teams listed (+ Reading):

Carlisle > 4

Reading (h) - 02 Mar
Charlton (a) - 09 Mar
Shrewsbury (a) - 16 Mar
Cheltenham (a) - 09 Apr

Fleetwood > 3

Port Vale (a) - 27 Feb
Charlton (h) - 16 Mar
Cheltenham (h) - 29 Mar

Cheltenham > 3

Charlton (h) - 05 Mar
Fleetwood (a) - 29 Mar
Carlisle (h) - 09 Apr

Port Vale > 2

Fleetwood (h) - 27 Feb
Shrewsbury (h) - 09 Mar

Shrewsbury > 4

Reading (a) - 24 Feb
Port Vale (a) - 09 Mar
Carlisle (h) - 16 Mar
Charlton (a) - 20 Apr

Charlton > 4

Cheltenham (a) - 05 Mar
Carlisle (h) - 09 Mar
Fleetwood (a) - 16 Mar
Shrewsbury (h) - 20 Apr

So, there aren't many games left that we can influence but the teams around us will be taking points off of each other

Then there are the games against the top teams where you'd expect/hope they would get nothing

I think I missed Neil Harris taking over at Cambridge in the first place, but he's left to go back to Millwall.

They'd seemed to be in reasonable form over Winter so possibly clips the wings of another team below us...

7 points if Vale win or 8 if they fail to or Charlton lose.

mad (mathematical  ) stuff, what a net turnaround from being 10 points adrift not so long back.

Looking at it now I'd say its any 2 from Exeter downwards along with Carlisle and Fleetwood.

Fleetwood are fighting hard but it looks like they have too much ground to make up, they likely need circa 2 points a game which isn't likely.

Worry for Port Vale, tough run in, loads of catch up games and three losses since Moore came in which they would have seen as an opportunity to get some points.

Charlton, no idea if I'm honest, on paper the best squad down there, but no wins still since November and the pressure will really be on the longer that goes on and when they play sides around them.

Cambridge, one to watch, third manager now this season and just lost Harris suddenly which will have caused disruption, next couple of games are Stevenage and Bolton, and have lost 4 in last 5.

Stevenage is pretty local and, I understand, often a bit feisty, so hopefully they can stick one over on them.
