Yeah will be massively surprised if Derby don't go up on Saturday - hopefully Paul Warne then keeps up his Championship relegation record.

The only way they won't is if they lose at home to Carlisle and Bolton win and overturn a 4 goal swing. Derby have previous of course - in 2015, all they had to do was not lose at home to 18th placed Reading to make the play-offs - we naturally stuffed them 3-0.

In terms of play-offs.

Peterborough guaranteed a spot for a couple of weeks now but can finish 3rd if they beat Bolton by 4.

Barnsley, Lincoln, Oxford & Blackpool look to claim the other 2 spots:

Barnsley: Equal or better the results of 2 of the other 3 and they are in.
Lincoln: Equal or better the results of 2 of the other 3 and they are in.
Oxford: Better the results of Lincoln or Barnsley. If Lincoln win, win by 5 more goals than they do. If they lose, can still qualify if Blackpool lose and Lincoln lose by 5 more goals
Blackpool: Have to win. Draw will not be enough unless Lincoln and Oxford lose by 9 and 4 respectively.

At the bottom

3 sides in danger after Cheltenham beat the Peterborough reserve side last night:

Cheltenham: Must beat Stevenage (a) and hope either Burton draw or Cambridge lose.
Burton: Win at Fleetwood sees them safe. If they draw, will stay up if Cheltenham lose/draw or Cambridge lose by minimum 3*
Cambridge: Draw or better at Vale keeps them up. Lose and they will stay up if Cheltenham fail to win and Burton lose (or draw with goal swing of less than 3)

* In the event that Burton draw 0-0 at Fleetwood and Cambridge lose 3-0 at Vale then the sides will have identical records. Burton will be saved by a better head to head record. However, if Cheltenham also win then Cambridge will drop as a result,

I think you’re overplaying the 4 goal difference.

If Derby lose and Bolton win, that’s a minimum of 2 of the 4 already

However, Derby won’t lose

The 3 sides already relegated have a big opportunity to troll their opposition and impact the final table then. Carlisle can deny Derby, while Fleetwood and Port Vale can respectively drag down Burton and Cambridge with them.

Apparently Lyle Taylor gave away a penalty late on Tuesday that meant Cambridge went into the final day at risk of relegation, he hit back at (legit) criticism on social media (not heard any suggestion of racist abuse etc) and then walked out of the club on Wednesday.

What a wrong 'un.

He was certainly poor against us, absolutely shocking lack of effort.

Still remember in the 19/20 Covid affected season he refused to sign a 6 week extension at Charlton for the restart and their ultimately unsuccessful relegation fight. Exactly the sort of character you don't want at your club.

According to the CUFC fans forum page, he was on £13K a week!

Cambridge were absolutely desperate for strikers at one point and he was fairly well rated only a few years back.

I wouldn't be surprised if we had a few on similar or more.

Seem to be some strong rumours about that Jonson Clarke-Harris will be signing from Mansfield.

Have absolutely no interest in us signing him esp as he is allegedly after big money but that could be seen as a bit of a "statement signing" from them if that is true.

Seems to be a typo, so for clarity he'd be signing for Mansfield (from Peterborough). Apparently for a two year deal, with Mansfield having an option of an additional year.

Seems to have had a relatively poor season - scoring nine (compared to 26 and 31 in his previous two League One seasons). Scored only three since Christmas (17 matches). He's 30 this summer, probably in decline.

I wouldn't want to sign him either, especially if he's on very high wages for League One (people talking about £10k p/w). Better options will be out there for less money.

Yep, big name signing on top L1 wages. Avoid.

Yes sorry typo.

He has scored 9 but only in about 1500 mins - works out at a 1 in 2 rate still but lack of minutes are there for a reason.
