WestYorksRoyal Dai has ruined the women's team even more than the men. 8 years in the WSL, players like Kirkby and Williams featuring. Now a part time team fighting not to fall into non League. Shameful.

I've been thinking about this. My Chelsea women's supporting colleague said he's been to the Mad Stad to watch Chelsea ladies play Reading and there were under 100 home fans, suggesting nothing more than friends and families of the players involved.

Whilst an owner might do the honourable thing and pay to enable a women's team to exist, why should they bother if no Reading locals bother to turn up to watch?

Trouble is the Women’s management hardly encourage fans to go !! I won’t go because they charge for using the car park which is just plainly stupid.

What`s happened to them? 18 goals conceded in 4 games, they were quite good before that.

Subbed the entire back 4 :D

Updated Magic Number for the Women to stay up (and eliminating GD) folowing Sunday's results:

London City: (2 games left) 1 point guarantees safety (currently on 22 points)
Durham: (2 games left - incl v Reading) 3 points guarantees safety (currently on 20 points)
Reading: (3 games left) 5 points guarantees safety (currently on 18 points)

Lewes (2 games left) MAX POINTS AVAILABLE - 22 (currently on 16 points)
Watford (3 games left, incl v Reading) MAX POINTS AVAILABLE - 21 (currently on 12 points)

Remaining fixtures

Durham
Reading A
Birmingham H

London City
Southampton A
Lewes H

Reading
Blackburn A
Durham H
Watford A

Lewes
Crystal Pal H
London City A

Watford
Charlton H
Blackburn A
Reading H

Still in Reading's hands, with those 2 games versus Durham and Watford ever more important.

It is likely to go down to the last games; London City can do us a massive favour against Lewes whilst we play Watford (who may well be down by the time we play them).

If we stay up, replacing Watford and probably Lewes in the Championship will be Newcastle and Portsmouth.

The penultimate match of the season is next up for the Royals next Sunday 21st April. Home at the SCL stadium to Durham KO 12pm..
This is a massive fixture and victory would almost certainly guarantee another season in the Championship. Lewes below the Royals in the table have a home game against the division leaders Crystal Palace.( which is live on FA player)

Hold on girls. From the risk of dual double relegations, looks like both will survive this season.

F-T 1-0 we are not quite assured of survival yet but Lewes playing at the moment have to win to have any chance of staying up.
Edit Lewes losing 2-0
Lewes lost 2-0
ROYALS SAFE- Palace champions and promoted to WSL

And if, as looks very likely, Bristol City get relegated, then WSL 1 next season could very likely only comprise women's teams that are linked to EPL clubs! The first time in the league's history I believe?

The EPL clubs continue to further detach themselves from the rest of the football pyramid in this country.

Expect Newcastle women with their resources to smash through the Championship and make it a hat trick of promotions. Hopefully we can strengthen with the takeover as it'll be a tough division.
