South Coast Royal The commentator of Stevenage's game at Oxford during the week said that Nesta Guinness-Walker is the great grandson of Sir Alec Guinness.
That one passed me by if indeed it was common knowledge in his time here.

I always thought Nesta was a bit stout

Reportage, you thick goon, it was half his squad at Bradford who said it; great when things are going well but clueless when things get a little bit tricky and too eager to try to please everyone.

I guess having a budget 2 to 3 times bigger than every other club in the league helps oil the wheels.

Ex-adversary now on tour, who'd go and watch his "show" if it rocked up at the Hexagon?

I’d certainly go if he came to Crawley’s Hawth Theatre. Always fascinating to hear controversial figures look back over their lives - saw John Lydon a couple of years ago and in a relaxed environment, he was totally different from his expected persona.

Orion1871 Sunderland announce Charlie Hurley has passed away.

This is very sad news.

Reading have now also announced it.

I trust Reading will organise a minute's silence for Charlie on Saturday, after all he "found" Robin and brought the club its first promotion in 50 years.

About 20 years ago I did suggest to BBC Berks that they should look to arrange an interview with him. Shame that never happened as I'm sure he could have added a bit more colour to his time at the club.

BBC reporting that any bids for Olise and Eze start at £60m with the next paragraph of interest.

Neither contract contains a straightforward release clause and any deal will be complex with percentages due to the player's former club, the players themselves and Crystal Palace.

Yep saw that

My guess fwiw (nothing) is that there probably is a clause of sorts in there. Just maybe not as high as we’d hope - maybe 5% or something

Don’t think Palace get enough credit really. They’ve picked up 3 superb champ players for not a huge amount. As said in the article, they are a completely different side when Olise and Eze play, and Wharton looks excellent

Pretty sure Bowen is on record saying we don't have an Olise sell on clause. Don't you get solidarity payments by default though, at 1% or so? If he goes for £80m, would still be a handy amount at this level. But just imagine if we had agreed 20% or so.

P.s., Wharton looks like a player. Alongside Mainoo and Alex Scott, possible solution to England's perennial 3rd CM problem.

A pretty good last 3 games for them.

Great to see the praise in the media for Olise who we all knew would make it but, just because he played for The Fakes, there were some on here who thought that Eze wasn't all that.

Remember when some of us said Ejaria was better than Eze? But bias aside, Olise genuinely is.

I think that opinion was based on Eze having a couple not so stellar games against us.

Not quite true, Robin Friday came to Reading via the FA Cup draw v Hayes, but Charlie did sign him.

If we do have an Olise sell on clause, could it complicate the takeover? If Dai's representatives tell him there's a potential windfall coming this summer, he may want to amend the terms of any sale to ensure he gets his share.

There is no evidence we do, direct evidence we don’t.
If we do then it won’t be a surprise to Dai, NH or the purchasers and will be part of the sales negotiation and valuation. It’s not a sudden new thing that’s cropped up.
