Hound 9 in 13 is an excellent return. Especially for two wingers

It’s good for 2 wingers but you would also need centre forward chipping in with 15-20 across the season. Meite and Barrow should be really good supporting strikers but not instead of a proper central striker. Novacovic might do the job but no guarantee

NewCorkSeth I think we need to stop underestimating the link Meite and Barrow forged. Both are still dangerous players. I dont doubt we would have been better off with Oliveira but I think the suggestion that we will struggle for goals is premature. We have pace that most defenders cant rival in Barrow and physicality most wingers cant match in Meite. If (and it's a reasonably sized if) they can start as strongly as the finished together last season then I am not overly concerned.

Agree, they scored plenty and looked dangerous back end of last year. Add in Nova, Loader and maybe Baldock and there are goals there. Swift needs to up his game in terms of goalscoring though.

Also Morrison, Moore and Miazga really should get their fair share from set pieces.

You're easily pleased, they got 9 between them in the second half of the season. That isn't going to take us far.

The most favourable selection window is 7 in 10 or 9 in 13. But that's basically the only two players we have with any scoring record here.

Whats wrong with 7 in 10 or 9 in 13? I dont get you sometimes. It isnt a straight for straight swap in football. Last season was partly under a different manager, tactics and a relegation battle. This season hasn't started yet and the 2 of them did look dangerous. You cant deny that.

Also scoring record here? How is that relevent? I presume that was to discount Novakovich? It shouldnt.

The top scorer last season was Pukki. Has he played in the Championship before? No. Did he do as well in comparable leagues previously in his career? No. So whos to say Novakovich cant turn 9 Eredivisie league goals into 15 here?

Who was next in the scoring charts? Maupay. How many goals did he score the season before? 12. How many goals did Meite score last season? 12.

Does any of this mean we will definitely score loads of goals this season? No but it does show that you cant tell how many goals a player will score based on the previous season or the previous league they played in.

Coppells Lost Coat Clean sheets guarantees points.
There is no point being able to score 2-3 goals a game but concede just as many.

You can't win if you don't score. You can draw and win if you concede. Lots of draws put you in a relegation fight.

Tell that to Stoke.

Yes, but it's selective counting of games. It's also 9 in ~23.

And the point made was that with those two going we don't need a scoring striker. You want your top scorer on 15 - 20 with second on 8-15. Not 12 and 6.

You mean like Leeds United? Who finished 3rd?

And had their top 4 scorers on:
15, 12, 10 and 9. All exactly in the range I said was the aim for the top 2.

Roofe scored an extra in the play offs so 14 for him. Out of your range.

You set the arbitrary goal targets not me.

And just checked. Derby finished the regular season with their top 4 goalscorers on 14, 9, 7 and 6. 36 goals in total. You dont think Meite, Barrow, Swift and Novakovich can get 9 goals each?

Again no comment from Gomes on this, can we assume he doesn't want him here either?

Hound 9 in 13 is an excellent return. Especially for two wingers

Nova and Baldock have scoring records either in the champ or elsewhere

Like i said elsewhere, if we went out and purchased an international striker from Netherlands who scored over 30 goals in the last two seasons, would that make people happier with our options?

I’m sorry but when your second top scorer ends up on 7 goals (having only started three games since September) it’s a natural feeling to be concerned with striking options

In order to succeed, you need a range of players in the 8-14 range or a striker with 25-30 goals, not just one player in double figures. Meite and Barrow may have linked up well (this was for 5 games BTW - from Preston (H) to Bristol (A)) but we still didn’t score enough goals through the entire season

Your last point is a good one though and is hard to explain. Possibly because he’s been loaned out so many times, people are questioning his ability. I’m personally excited to see him this season

The only explanation is that he's resigning imminently.

Both have no avatars, both have usernames beginning with N, both have similar posting styles.

And of course you're both dead sexy.

Either Derby scored a lot of goals in the cup or you’re talking rubbish. Derby’s top scorers finished on 18,13,13 and 11. That equals 55

I get confused sometimes.

Not sure our posting styles are similar.
I tend to be witty, knowledgeable and fair minded.
