WestYorksRoyal From what I've read, Dorsett is an old school centre back. Strong, good in the air, just generally good at defending. But he's not great with the ball at his feet and playing out from the back.

3 headers won per game, 3.6 clearances. 75% pass completions

Suspect you are correct based on that

Hopefully with a bit more pace than our current centrebacks.

NathStPaul Would rather our defenders can defend than play 50 yard passes accurately tbh. Hoping we keep things extremely basic at the back next season.

Big plus one. Get it clear then re organise.

YorkshireRoyal99 Instead of who though? McIntyre moved into midfield and alongside Holmes? I'm not sure if I feel totally comfortable with that personally.

I'd have him as part of our squad, but wouldn't want his development hindered through a lack of game time and another 40+ games lower down the pyramid would likely be better for him than coming into our defence. If he's ready and good enough though, then fair enough lets do it.

Dann and McIntyre will both be unavailable at some point. McIntyre could be forced into LB or DM, Holmes RB.

There will absolutely be a chance for Dorsett. I don't thinķ anyone expects him to play 30 games.

He’d do well to be slower. Suspect you and me might be a quicker pair

From what I've read of Dorsett, he was a bit up and down early on in his loan but got consistently better as he played more games. Whilst I suspect he won't be getting 30 games next season he does sound like he will benefit from more than just the odd start here and there or 15 minute sub appearances so I'd like to think he'll get some decent chances.

Holmes won't be at RB unless Yiadom moves into a different position, which I can't see and I'd imagine we'd recruit a LB as well which rules McIntyre out of that position mostly and we've still got Moore on our books.

Agree he should be given a chance though this season, depending on how the season goes though it could be difficult to see where, but I'm hopeful.

Is Dorsett a local lad or another academy prospect we picked up from the London circuit like Richards and Olise?

he was born in Enfield, and he joined in the 2016/2017 season when he was 14

He came in via Eldon Celtic who are based in South Reading. Which seems a bit far for a lad from Enfield - so maybe his family moved closer to Reading when he was younger?

I assume the implication here was if/when Yiadom is injured. We know what last season was like with injuries to defenders, There will be opportunities to play, and definitely to get on the bench - I'd say opportunities would only be limited if we get more defenders in on loan

Yiadom isn't immune to injury or loss of form.

A new left back could be injured or shit or not materialise

Laurent signs for Stoke as expected. Now for Rinomhota to announce his club.

I have no time for players who don't want to be here normally but I'd go out on a limb and say that wasn't the case for Laurent, think he would of happily stayed had we been able to pay him decent money.

Not gonna be bitter, I wish Laurent all the best.

But I hope Stoke get relegated.

Disappointing but not disastrous. Would feel the same if Rino left for Stoke as well.

Stoke allegedly interested in Alfa Semedo as well, looks as though their scouting this year has revolved around watching videos of Reading games of the last few seasons.

Building the Staffordshire Royals then by the sounds of it. Lewis Baker in midfield, Liam Moore on loan last season etc. Probably wouldn't be surprised to see them move for Joao or Meite next season, providing both stay beyond this summer.
