Yes, just announced max gate in Scotland 500 from Boxing Day so we may follow

What’s the point in allowing just 500 in? Just adds more cost for football clubs to steward it.

Completely agree, ask Nicola Sturgeon

is that 500 fans or 500 people?

So does it include journalists, club officials, league officials and general other hangers on that apparently need to be there? Therefore it is essentially behind closed doors.

Good question.

If they had to do that at the Madejski then I suppose Club1871 would still all be allowed in as none of them are fans.

I find all this training and no matches worrying , we seem to pick up more injuries in training than we do matches .

+1

Heads should roll at the club for this decision to let them drain finances out of the club at a critical time

Whilst disappointed at least we will be able to get Joao back for the rearranged fixture and we wont play with a Covid 19 hit side in a massive game

Joao posted a pic of himself at the training ground so hopefully just a matter of weeks away now. Reckon maybe 15th or 22nd Jan

Let's hope the break has sorted his swagger out. He's not been the same since that pen miss last season.

Interesting (or maybe not) that that Posh fan Adrian Durham is tweeting that teams that postpone games should forfeit the points, obviously having another bash at us there again I think.

When : Wednesday 16 February 2022, 7.45pm
Where : Still the same place as page 1 of this thread
Why : So Sky can show it live to any interested subscribers to give them a break from proper football

I really can’t be bothered to start a new thread for this, about had enough of the useless management that are rapidly starting to make Terry the Taxi look like a tactical genius so I’ll simply update this thread.

Games like this are now pretty much a must win. While a draw maintains the status quo of Reading anxiously looking to avoid dropping “down, down deeper and down”, a win would severely damage the Posh’s confidence while giving some ground and clear light between the two clubs. The expected debacle though hangs like the sword of Damocles over everyone.

And the reasons why Reading will lose (or at least not win anyway) continue to add up. If the fact it’s on the telly wasn’t bad enough the fact that Reading’s away league record for midweek games now stands at 4 wins from 47 and Peterborough does not begin with B really makes for dark omens. Finally there’s the pretty awful record of 10 defeats in 17 league visits to London Road to add to the mix.

This really is the battle of the cr@p in the division, Reading have 2 wins and 3 draws to show from 15 league games while Peterborough are even worse on 1 win and 3 draws from 15 league games. However at least the ‘boro are still in the FA Cup having not contrived to lose to a team from tier 6.

Therefore overall expectation sadly is one of not much. The team at least looked like it tried on Saturday but the only real bright spot was the return of Meite and it will be interesting to see if he gets a start for an hour or so in place of the suspended Hoilett.

And that about sums up the complete misery of the club at the moment, in his 20 minutes or so v Coventry Meite probably showed more flair, excitement and created more panic in defenders than we’ve seen from the rest of the team this year. That this may be because his injury has meant an extended time well away from the whatever it is that the management are trying do with the playing side is a worry as, now being back in the day to day fold, how long will it take before he too is under the spell?

If Reading lose this game then that really has to be the end for Pauno doesn’t it - or will it just mean the same old story when the club travel up to Preston next weekend?

For the record, the referee is still the same as scheduled for the original fixture - Matthew Donohue.

Last chance saloon for a managerial change this one. Lose an 8th league game in a row and drop into the relegation zone and if he doesn’t go he really never will.

With Meite back I think we might actually get a result and prolong the agony though.

A poor pitch may impinge on Readings fast flowing attacking style of football. By all accounts not a great spectale today against PNE.

This is such a tough one, it’s my last hope that Pauno will get sacked, but equally it is such a must win game.

If we lose and he doesn’t go then we know he never will and we can plan for league one.

Truly a game of who can be less sh*t than the other.

Imagine they regret handing Ferguson that new contract some months ago, otherwise any sane owner (unlike ours) surely would have looked elsewhere by now and started the new manager bounce just in time.
