Well at least that's one actual LB signed. Could use another more experienced head though.

THat brings an end to all the whines about lack of left backs.
We’ve now not only got one but he’s named after Bob Marley and has a famous great grandfather. Got to be worth 6-8 points over a season.
Just Sarr, Mamadou and Fran Kirby to go and we’re sorted !

Yeah pleased with this. He is pretty experienced so not like chucking in a u23

Looked good from what I saw of him.

Good news, he's looked promising in pre-season for us, if BOO happens to be the other LB that we possibly end up signing, we should be ok in that department.

And with McIntyre able to play there, it should be a position we're reasonably well covered at.

Happy with this. Hopefully have an option to extend.

Plugs a desperate gap and should start tomorrow. Hopefully he can develop well and we can extend in the summer.

I'd like to see a more experienced option to take the pressure off him. Not BOO from the Dutch 2nd tier; I'd argue NGW has played at a comfortably higher level in L1. But I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Yeah I can see the thinking behind that, but I think the general idea it that BOO has done pretty well for us up until his injury and it seems the club have confidence in him otherwise I reckon we'd have let him go a while ago if we didn't think he was capable.

There is still another month of the transfer window left however, so anything could change in that time as teams look to fill voids/improve positions in their own team as the season gets underway, someone may become available during that time.

Interesting interview from a few years back with NGW:

https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/exclusiv ... ig-screen/

Says:

...is the great-grandson of the Star Wars actor Sir Alec Guinness, who played Obi Wan-Kenobi in the original trilogy series.

I know you are only joking about Fran Kirby, but she is EXACTLY the type of player we are currently lacking.

Yeah, we could really utilise her height at set pieces.

Would be great if we actually put in a bid for her and challenged the segregation in football.....

‘Kirby’s coming home.......’
