genome I've seen enough football in my lifetime to know how this match is going to go.

CountryRoyal I just don’t get why we don’t always play like this. Teams aren’t good enough in this division to play out from the back. Teams have been stopping us from doing it for years.

Tbf of the managers that tried it I don’t recall any being good managers, just look at the state of their careers. Might be a different story if they were actually coached properly.

Is it my understanding we have the option to buy Loume at the end of the season?

CountryRoyal Long offers so much to this team. Great hold up and defending from the front.

Hands up, I thought he was past it, but he's been superb today and good in general.

Holmes seems to have really come on. NGW is growing on me game by game. Fornah is quickly growing into the season, Loum looks a great find. You can rely on Hoilett and Yiadom (I think pushing Hoilett forward and Yiadom back to RB has really helped)

I think we'll find games where our approach just doesn't work for us and we get punished sometimes. But if we approach games like this we'll do fine overall.

Sacked off that daft cobbled together back 5, and the shit passing out from the back and suddenly we look like a different team.

NGW is a young Obita regen with a long throw.

I get what you’re saying but if the press is intense enough then the players just don’t have the technical ability to play as quickly as they need to consistently play out from back. Most of the prem don’t either. Any dickhead can sprint at a player on the edge of their box though.

NewCorkSeth Why do we look so organised and professional?

Square pegs in square holes, no passing out from the back, back 4, no Ejaria.

See previous post. Why is Hoillett on the right if it's a 4 at the back?

NewCorkSeth Wait, its not a back 3? I just thought Loum was playing deeper..

Loum is the deeper of the three midfielders, but he's definitely not in defence. We go to a back 3 quite often with NGW pushing up high, but he can get up and down the pitch to make it a 4 in defence.

It often looks a bit lopsided something like

......................Lumley
...Yiadom, Holmes, McIntyre
...................................................NGW
......................Loum
.............Hendrick...Fornah
Hoilett
..............................Ince
...................Long

Big improvement from Saturday but that being said it would have been hard to be worse.

Blackburn won't be as bad in the second half you wouldn't have thought. Hopefully we don't sit off and invite pressure for 45 minutes.

A d this was paunos fault he never changed things that didn’t work. Ince clearly and quickly realised 5 at the back is t working and has changed it. Pauno just kept doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result. Good to see he’s prepared to admit he’s made a mistake and is prepared to change it up
