ooh is that quicker to the M3 than via the M4? What route is that southbound A33...

Yeah, I usually find it is quicker to M3, go the back way through Bramshill, past Eversley, Blackbushe Airport and out onto the M3 at Junction 4a. Usually go that way as well.

The only time I would probably go back via M4 if it's an evening game and I can't be arsed to navigate and just want the simplest drive possible!

Interesting Hendo

Indeed, something maybe to try. The only time it can be an issue is getting stuck behind a tractor or horse box

The traffic argument is old and out dated. We don’t get more than 8-10k tops for midweek games as a large number of STH’s don’t bother, that is obvious and apparent.

Add in that more people WFH and it doesn’t really stack up. Those of who do end up attending up being the ones most inconvenienced with a later kick off time.

Yeah I expect weak attendances at first. If we are near the top of the league I reckon we'll get 15-16k by the end of the season and 10-11k midweek. Otherwise 8k if we aren't.

Who's up for Port Vale? Been years since we played up there, let's get 2k+ travelling to that one.

Cheltenham midweek could be very low in terms of people going.

The availability of extra buses to service the numerous additional around & out of town routes, as well as the direct one, was one of the reasons the 8.00 p.m. kick off decision was taken originally. Earlier in the evening many of these will have been dealing with the local rush hour. This is still valid despite any drop in attendance.

Pepe the Horseman I'm home for a week from Sunday 29th October - Sunday 5th November. No fixtures :|

At least we are guaranteed to be in the FA Cup on the 4th. Nov. So you will be able to watch us being knocked of the cup by Maidenhead!

Millwall away in the Cararbo cup safe to say are proud record of being dumped out in the first round will continue. At least we can concentrate on avoiding relegation.

Royal_jimmy Who's up for Port Vale? Been years since we played up there, let's get 2k+ travelling to that one.

Port Vale is the league's grimmest club, in the league's grimmest ground.

It's the only ground that looked even older after they did it up in the 90s.

The only saving grace is that it no longer has a shanty town down one side, where the main stand now is.

Loftus and Kenilworth are both worse, as I recall at least you can see the pitch at Vale Park.

Would rather we had Exeter at home and Swindon away. That said, we've got Swindon and Oxford at home in the same week.

They tend to do this with fixtures. They know that Fleetwood won't travel well to us on a midweek or weekend (likely vice versa) but they know that Oxford have a better chance of selling out/having a better following on a weekend than a midweek, also we will probably have a larger crowd for a home weekend fixture rather than midweek. Bumps the crowds up for more local fixtures.

Christmas and Easter fixtures were always local derbies to attract fans that would be at home and go to a game (also because of usual travel restriction over those periods) a Boxing day fixture at Peterborough with no public transport (then again who uses it these days  ) when Oxford is just down the road plus Bolton away on Easter Monday, when Wycombe are just down the road seems crazy to me[/quote]
Ooo. Might have to cry off family xmas to stay local for Posh!
