URZZZZ Contrary to most people, would be happy enough with this appointment

With this being our first season in L1 in 20+ years, and with the big overhaul of the squad - it’s a chance for an up and coming manager to have a crack at it

Not sure how much relevance his 18(?) games at a demoralised, poor Southampton side in an ever increasingly unfair Premier League bears on how well he’ll do here

Very little foundation behind the “experience” argument
anyway IMO. Don’t think you could argue too much that Stam and Bowen have been our most successful managers from when McDermott was sacked the first time around (or certainly two of the better ones). Stam and Bowen vs Adkins, Clarke, McDermott II, Clement, Gomes, Paunovic and Ince. There’s almost a pattern there

An unconvincing half of Stam... the other half was utterly abject.

Internal appointments are always a different kettle of fish, so you can rule out Pardew and McDermott as comparisons.

So the last two actually experienced (relevantly) managers we appointed were Coppell and Adkins. The rest have been inexperienced or inexperienced in the relevant leagues. And failed.

Royal_jimmy He apparently plays a high press, so like how Barnsley used to play

Good luck trying that with Andy Carroll upfront and our pace at the back.

Don't want to be a Doom and Gloom merchant, but with the HMRC news, he's not going to have anything to manage

Catching up and just hearing about the HMRC charge

I'd not be at all surprised for selles and any other candidate to steer well clear of the club in its current state.

Unstable, no players, probably no information on budgets and definitely no trust.

A club like ours who has just been relegated can often be a very attractive position, chance to go back up, good thing squad, established higher league club but just falling on difficult times. We're the opposite of all of that and don't seem to have much to offer.

We might not even have to worry about Selles managing a game for us, as we may not even make the start the season at this rate.

Does Selles need a work permit before he can manage us in the UK? I know the pre-season trip to Spain was organised before we were relegated but would Selles be able to manage us there but not here?

Fezza Really well regarded as a coach, I'd almost rather this than Wilder if we're looking to build something. However recruitment is absolutely key with regards to the playing squad. Pace please!

Fair enough. I was completely wrong. He lost the dressing room within about three games and has played nonsense football for the majority of the season.
