Actually partly quite interesting and jolly decent of another organisation to cover something that is directly of interest to Reading fans as well as all those fans of clubs with Chinese owners or China related finances. Also highlights the sorts of inadequacies that the FL and PL might want to try and legislate against in any "fit and proper" tests that they may run.

You don't have to watch/listen if you don't want to but is certainly worthwhile to post a link it on this thread so people can make up your own mind about it, an opportunity which is so sadly missing from so many things these days.

Blackburn have had the money taps turned off as well now with India imposing money transfer rules similar to China preventing the Vinkey's fro transferring money over to cover the shortfall in the running costs.

Seems to be a much wider ownership problem now with overseas owners being able to get funds out of their country of origin.

Are we (Reading) responsible for coming up with that expression? Football has an ownership problem

No, it's been around for a good 15+ years.

The FSA referenced Reading when they mentioned it

But if its been around for ages I obviously had no interest in it as it wasn't affecting my club!

That's the way it generally works....

But I definitely remember it being used back in 2011 in the circles who were interested in such things (at the time of a DCMS enquiry into football ownership) - and I'm pretty sure it was a well-worn phrase even then.

Thinking of cashing in with a range of merchandise?
Actually not a bad idea, if the proceeds go towards supporters trusts protests at struggling clubs

T shirts, flags, banners, mugs? Socks? Car pennants.

Pass it on to the Reading marketing team? Have we still got one though?

Pretty sure the current Reading FC marketing team won't touch this as long as Reading FC has an ownership problem, even then I don't think it will fit in with the new owner.

Might raise it with STAR, something all Supporters Trusts could manage together with unified branding. Maybe sell at cost rather than make a profit

I always loved the Leeds United protests at Elland Road in 2016

I watched the Frankfurt game today. Fans threw thousands of sweets on the pitch with 3 remote controlled aeroplanes flying around. The sweets took forever to pick up.

That's why he's asking for a long range one.
