Carlisle manager Paul Simpson on goalkeeper Andresson:

“Jokull has been back in training but has landed on his shoulder again and refractured the same thing.”

Any update on Holmes after he came off after that collision on Saturday? Depending on the seriousness I guess this could impact on the sale of TMac?

That's probably the end of his season then, knowing our medical team.

So - just Holmes out currently (possibly Camara too, where is he?) Holmes being injured in a 50-50 challenge in a game, and hardly any muscle injuries all season.

What's changed this season as lets be honest if we had had the same amount of injuries this year as the previous 3 years we'd probably be bottom.

Is it younger, fitter players, better training methods or just the general rub of the green balancing out?

Yes... bit of everything.

Selles has a bit of a fitness background I think, which may help.

We have younger players.

Selles actually uses his bench, regularly makes 3 to 5 subs. It's not necessarily the best use for protecting our key players, but it is spreading the load.

Compare it to Ince running the same 11 players, with a higher average age, into the ground for 95 minutes each week and there's certainly a difference.

Whatever has changed, it’s been under Selles’ watch and he deserves credit for it. For the last three seasons, we have consistently had an entire team on the injured list, several of those injuries having been sustained in training. If we were still in that position, we would be rock bottom of the table.

That doesn’t sound very pleasant. 4 more weeks off or so?

By back, I assume we mean spine. A fracture will take weeks to healand to allow a spine fracture to heal provably means losing significant fitness by doing very little.

If its spine I'd be surprised to see him turn out for us again.

Selles revealed that Holmes tried to join training this week but found he couldn't move when he got on the pitch (so not much change there then). Ruben's assessment is that Tom might not be involved v Charlton :?

Zane Monlouis stands by to not get on the pitch again.

Holmes has now seen a specialist and is likely to be out for 4-6 weeks so he's not likely to be involved much before the end of March.

“Someone from the medical staff this week asked to go to another club"

Finally a positive from the Dai debacle.

Just seen Zane Monlouis has been called up to the Jamaica U23s squad. Completely forgot we signed this guy. Obviously not injured, any idea why he hasn't been making the squad?

Clearly not up to the standard the manager expects.

Yeh. Surprising as he was the Arsenal U21s captain, but then Binden and Mbengue have been pretty much faultless since he came in.

Would imagine he was bought in with cover in mind as we were probably a bit uncertain as to who was going to stay/leave in Jan and cover for any injuries.
