Pathetic. Surely such incompetence is only atypical of apathy. There’s no way anyone is this idiotic, to continue along this path in the face of everything.

This is going to be the way it is until additional investment on a full sale.

Tax paid late > Embargo > Tax paid > embargo lifted > tax paid late

it's just exhausting and in a stroke any positive feeling brought on by the last week is undone.

Makes yesterday's team v QPR make more sense as Selles is going to have to count on those and we will no doubt miss out on targets.

The only plus point would be if we are still able to sign free agents.

Way to go Reading, how many years have you had with Mr Dai to sort out cashflow and putting safeguards in place to ensure cr@p like this doesn't happen?

Really hoping the rumoured new investment turns into a full take over.

I wonder if Selles, Knibbs, Smith, Savage etc. feel like they've been sold a dud. I don't doubt the vision, competence, and sincerity of Bowen and Carey, but ultimately if the club can't access the cash it needs we're only going to fall further down.

Signing players was fun while it lasted. Hopefully, the other rumour from yesterday of new investment being imminent is also true.

I didn't even see this rumour, was it from a reliable source?

Is this on the EFL website?

The article says "the chronicle understands"

That guy has not got a great track record for accuracy

Even if true can't we still sign out of contract players/frees?

Posted on Rumours but Mirror Man Darren Witcoop said yesterday a player was incoming today, he has just tweeted stating it looks like the new embargo is there and that the deal is on the back burner but that the player is more likely to go elsewhere as had interest. The player is not a triallist.

So looks like this might cost us at least 1 player.

It's all just a game to this twat.

Probably caught out by the leak. They're normally better at responding to leaks and rumours than we are to be fair.

Presumably this relates to the PAYE tax on salaries payable at the end of June. I have never worked in a finance department, so I don't know how it works. My guess is that if someone's salary is £50k per month and you have to transfer that sum from an offshore account, you would transfer £50k and that the finance team would arrange to pay (say) £35k to the individual, with the tax, NI, pension, etc being disbursed as necessary. Which makes me wonder... is Dai not transferring the correct sums, or is the finance team not making the appropriate disbursals? Hoping we have someone on HNA who can shed some light...
