tidus_mi2 Looking it up, as his parents are New Zealand citizens, they should have the right to abode in the UK which would extend to him, which would mean he has the right to live and work in the UK.

Do we have the right to live and work in New Zealand too?

Doesn't work the other way unfortunately

Presumably one for the Academy rather than first XI though he’ll possibly be involved at Millwall.

Excellent news.
Getting in low-risk young hungry aspirational players like this is the only route to sustainability for a club of our size and stature at this particular point in time.
The sprinkling of experienced pro's here will help these kind of lads on their journey.
It looks to me as though the grown-ups are finally in control of recruitment. Well done Mr. Bowen.
The on-pitch results will obviously take time to take an upturn.
Be patient, everyone.

Anyone know anything on him?

Fortunately, we have a pretty good history of producing CB's for our first team in the last decade, so hopefully he can be the next one to come through the ranks.

I believe he identifies as one of those Americans. Don’t think we can count him as our first kiwi.

Don't have a great deal of expectations yet but certainly a good one for the future. I'm very happy to see the club signing players with potential again and suggests we have a long term sustainable plan to get out of this league in 3-4 seasons hopefully with these players still here and are up to the standard required. Our facilities to develop players are a big pull.

We need to find gems who can use us as a stepping stone until we have the cash to fund a promotion and keep us in the championship again.

TYLER BINDON!!!

Bindon rhymes with Swindon, gotta be able to do something with that.

We hate Bindon so we stab him?

Get your fathers gun, we'll shoot Tyler Bindon, Shoot Tyler Bindon?

Not exactly a warm welcome, but the name does fit.

Reading played New Zealand in 1984. Martin Peters and George Best both played for the mighty Reading.

The interview with him makes it clear that his mum got a job in the area and the family moved with her.

In that circumstance, rules around transfer of teenagers across borders wouldn’t apply.

I would guess that he has settled status and thus wouldn’t need a work permit. But he’s been training with the club for six months so I guess the delay was due to some sort of legal issue.

Also he has a pretty strong New Zealand accent and both his parents have represented New Zealand in sports (mother was their goalkeeper), so I think calling him a Kiwi is fair game.

More details here:

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2014/o ... s-a-royal/

Also says that: "On this day in 1927, Reading made it a record 14 League games without a win, stretching from the end of April to the end of October ... ' - have we matched this record yet?
