4-0. Our aggregate cup record this season is 19-2 from 4 games. Shame about the league.

Can we just play in this cup each week. Far less stressful

That's a hell of a cross from Wing.

Nice head Dean.

I don't think we're allowed to play in the L1/2 youth leagues.

The main positive from this is just how close to the first team the second string are. And getting valuable experience that will stand them in good stead.

Hopefully relaxing after a thorough training session!

I think it’s part of our problem that the 20 odd first Teamers are all about the same level. All useful but all flawed in way or another

It's the problem of such an inexperienced squad. So many have the quality to step up to L1 or higher. Its just really tough them all doing it at the same time.

Abbey, Bindon, Abrefa, Carson, Craig, Rushesha, Dorsett, Savage, Elliott, Vickers, Ballard, Ehibhatiomhan etc.

Give them 20 games experience and transition any 3 of them into a senior team and they'd flourish. But we're playing 4/5/6 at a time.

It's pretty shocking that at the start of the season this was the list of players and their starts for Reading FC:

Yiadom: 166
Holmes: 98
McIntyre: 80
Mbengue: 19
NGW: 19
Hutch: 11
Azeez: 10
Ehibhatiomhan: 4
Camara: 2
Abbey: 1

3 players with more than 20 starts for us ffs.

We all moan about this 4-2-2-2 system, and yes, i know we were only playing Swindon's second 11, however, i think it proved that with the right players playing wing backs then it can work!!
NGW and Yids both got up the field tonight and played particularly well, NGW especially so. Carson isn't quite there yet and Bindon is no FB.

I also thought Holmes played really well also. I love the kids i really do, however, we're in a mess at the moment and experience or the little we have left will be crucial in getting out of this hole.

Saying that, Craig was great tonight and i really think he is worth more gametime in the first team.

Getting Smith up to speed will also be key to this season, we are lacking goals and i would love to see Smith and Ballard as a tandem up top, with Big Kelvin coming on later in the game.

Great game tonight, and so good to see a great atmosphere in a essentially a mickey mouse cup :D

Team moving forward until Xmas if he sticks with 4-2-2-2

Button

Mbengue/Yids Holmes Dean NGW

Wing Craig

Elliot Knibbs

Ballard Smith
