Of course being in div1 rather than div2 is going to the bigger factor. But the original pricing was for Div1 and those players not a choice between Div1 without those players or Div2 with those players

Selling those players hasn’t increased our chance of staying in Div1 from the original valuation

And the wages of Harris, Vickers and Abbey would have been very small relatively

It was probably standard bargaining and the Athletic have over interpreted. If you were in negotiation when those sales happened, of course you would try and argue that they reduced the club value, whether you actually felt that way or not.

As mentioned by WYR earlier, I just hope there’s some news about exclusivity by the end of the month. I am hoping we’re down to one interested, viable party and a deal can be made soon.

If we haven’t got new owners before the season ends, I can’t see us starting the 24/25 season.

rfc8 ps, there's also the hotel, not sure where that fits.

That's a question for the Thai's. Nothing to do with Dai.

Thanks. So if someone bought whole site, club, stadium, car park, plus the training ground another site, and looked at development opportunities, etc there would be the issue of the hotel freehold owned by someone else and in the middle of the plot. A possible complication. But ways round I suppose. Also the possibility of stadium expansion sometime in the future, would the hotel ownership be an issue.

rfc8 Reading fc takeover cost.

Nigel Howe mentioned 4 separate entities.

Stadium, club, training ground, car park.

Some has planning permission for development.

Cost will depend on what included, all 4 together best if possible.

ps, there's also the hotel, not sure where that fits.

I believe the land around the stadium is also majority owned by the Thai's...so all the car parking etc....

I don't think we need new owners by end of season but the process of changing hands needs to be well underway or, if not, Dai needs to have changed his outlook on running the club and actually ensure it remains financed throughout the summer to allow recruitement/contracts.

But overall, if there is no exclusivity in place by the end of the season, we will be in a very bad place. This is the absolute latest of course, would hope it is place by end of month.

I expect Dai's hand to be forced by the FL before the end of the season.

We'd survive in that scenario which is the priority, but we would move backwards on the pitch. No chance to extend contracts and recruit well with uncertainty dragging into July and August.

It would seem pretty on brand for us to end up surviving relegation fairly comfortably only to be liquidated in July / August.

It's a bit odd these reports that Dai is surprised the club is now worth less after it sold sold off some of the assets which would have been included within the sale.... that's like selling a car dealership with 20 cars on the forecourt and then wondering why the price has dropped when you sell 5 cars and only have 15 included in the deal?

I do suspect that buyers are stringing it out because every month they don't own the club is another month they don't have to plough any money into it, Let the current owner keep it chugging along and they'll get more desperate to sell as well. Say if Dai is having to put £1m a month in, he might agree a £5m cut to buy now instead of in 10 months time as he'll save £10m and only lose an extra £5m.

This is why they need multiple interested parties, even if there's no chance of selling to them because it gets everyone wanting to move faster and beat the competition

He's utterly clueless and has no business sense. No surprise there really. No communist corruption to help him here I'm afraid.

Really don`t know where these £30m stories are coming from, certainly not from Dai is it?
Just baseless rumours people are spreading IMO.

He's an absolute clueless bellend of the highest order. Utterly utterly dimwitted cvnt, pathologically so. No business sense or even common sense. Really no wonder he messes up everything he touches. A ****ing clown. I wouldn't hire him to collect trolleys from carparks let alone trust him to run a business.

If there's no takeover on the horizon, it'd be a brave individual who'd buy a season ticket when renewal time comes around

They came from The Athletic who posted something yesterday and who haven't got a good track record for accuracy, was part of an article on Chinese owners..

The local journos have just re-posted the same info today along with everyone else on twitter.

I heard from a reliable source last month that he would "settle" for £30m, so may not be baseless.
