paddy20 Why has this site degenerated into personal insults between what should be supporters on the same side?

Because not everyone who supports Tottenham is Jewish
Because not everyone who supports Millwall is a skinhead
Because not everyone who supports Liverpool is a scouser
Opinions/beliefs vary. Those ties are stronger than the supposed "bond" between fellow fans of the same football club.

That's Antisemitism and I don't appreciate that

Nigel Howe appeared on a local property podcast I've been listening to, this morning. He was a bit reluctant to give too much information, but seemed to indicate that things are still moving forward with the preferred bidder.

Here's the link, if anyone's interested: https://battleandbuncetalkingproperty.buzzsprout.com/2124825/14617771-reading-fc-and-more-with-nigel-howe

Anybody know the timeframe? I thought we needed exclusivity soon as it takes months, and I believe Southend has still not completed?

But then, WBA had a long time of just noises and moving towards a preferred bid, exclusivity was never announced and then news of a deal agreement came out of the blue. And then it was completed within a fortnight.

Timeframes just add pressure to a situation and I would already imagine any and all parties involved know pressure will already build if any deal is not concluded by the end of season.

Also often seems with these things, that as soon as a certain point is reached, they can conclude pretty quickly (or fall apart even quicker).

It was frustrating it fell apart in the autumn, but I must grudgingly admit Dai played it well. In autumn he was selling a club seemingly destined for L2, whereas now a prospective buyer can see a squad and management team to build upon. Just need to get our 3 more wins on the pitch ASAP to remove the relegation threat which must surely be muddying negotiations.

So STAR's minutes from the EFL meeting suggest possible progress, as does the Howe interview. But also suggests money from January will run out during March.

We're fast approaching sale or bust. Hopefully it happens this time.

Knowing our luck, probably bust or at the best more points deductions.

Can we potentially still receive a fee advancement for a contracted player or someone in the academy? I’d even be prepared to donate some money in the hope of buying us more time.

The STAR report confirms that Dai is still providing minimum funding where needed so hopefully we can just about get through.

Sounds like Howe is targeting late March/April to have a new owner in. So basically, huge month ahead

Some pretty grim reading there without the EFL ruling out us getting chucked out.

Well they can't rule it out can they, it's their last resort.

The thing that I find concerning is the comment made that the EFL rules only require proof of funding for now and that the club can be supported for the first 18 months. So, under their own rules, we could be back here in 18 months time when the new owner decides s/he has had enough.

I can understand it. How can they guarantee an owner can keep going longer term like 3 years? They may lose interest, their other businesses may fail, they may die. There's no point looking too far ahead. And 18 months would give us a season without existential dread.

Just listened to Nigel Howe on the podcast, it would seem some prospective buyers are surprised they`re not getting the hotel too and some are concerned that we could lose all the car parking space when the royal elm park development finally starts, said he hoped they could buy that too, fukks sake how realistic is that?
