shadesrwrf "Matchwatch" oh the irony, as fewer and fewer actually are!

The irony is attendances might be up on last year given home was about the same if not up on last year to start the season, and away attendance is up.

The stats say attendances are up, but from going to games, the actual number of people in the stadium looks considerably lower.

Last night's crowd was given as about 11800. Take away 2800 from Bristol, and that's 9000 Reading fans. I doubt there were many more than 6000 Reading there in reality.

I can believe there were 9k Reading fans there

Exactly the same applies last season though.

Seen some people acting as if Ejaria will be some messiah, come into the team and save the season.

Genuinely would love to see the thought process of those individuals.

If Ejaria doesn't play again this season then he's pretty much done as a footballer!! So you would like to think he would be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the team and prove his worth and earn a transfer at the end of the season.

Its a shame as a fit and hungry Ejaria is exactly what this team needs right now!! However, we all know that ain't going to happen.

I want ejaria to happen just to wind up certain board members and provide some entertainment more than anything I’d expect him to do on the pitch

I mean he did have quality but we’re talking about 2 years since he last had a good game

I've been trying to hide from our recent results

It's 1,157 at present by the looks of it out of our 1,656 allocation. Only the middle block (of five) have completely sold out so far.

No, crowds look significantly lower this season, especially in the West and North stands.

11800 would mean the ground is effectively half full. It didn't look remotely close to being half full.

The East Stand last night - usually one of the most full parts of the ground. I don't think there were many more in there for the MK game.

Midweek crowds do seem to see a drop-off, with season ticket holders often not bothering, but yesterday felt very low.

Look, we can all make up our own arbitrary figures, but we may as well use the official ones because its the money that matters.

I think a factor is people working away from the Reading area - especially in London - making it too much of a hassle to get to the game and kids not going to midweek evening games. The latter is why the North Stand is always so empty for midweek games as that's where the family section is.

One little thing re: being able to catch the game.

For those who live outside of Berkshire, you can go onto BBC Sounds and then find BBC Berkshire in the Local Radio section and listen to the game like that.

You sure about that?

League games have always previously been off air online for contractual reasons.

If you live in the UK the only legal way to get games is via local and national radio stations or RoyalsTV or another club's equivalent. There is a general broadcast blackout on ALL LEAGUE games that kick off at 3pm on a Saturday. Internet broadcasts of these games are barred and all you'll get is some childish football focus type latest scores routine.

I listened to the game on Tuesday night that way.
