If it's Ruben's charity that turns up tonight, could a few supporters please save a tennis ball for the home dugout?

PieEater Is it really 22 years since the last game? And was that the game Tony Rougier was the star of the show in torrential rain?

Really could do with him tonight, very heavy rain forecast so the game might be off!

Thames Valley Police has put a Section 35 dispersal order in place in both central Reading and at the Select Car Leasing Stadium ahead of tonight’s football fixture.

Section 35 orders mean police officers and designated PCSOs have increased powers to deal with people aged over 10 engaging in anti-social behaviour or likely to do so, including the dispersal of people.

The dispersal order around Reading Station came into effect at noon on Tuesday, December 12, and will remain so until 3am on Wednesday, December 13.

The order around the SCL stadium will come into effect from 4pm on Tuesday and end at midnight that night.

funny how they take the piss out of our support.

As reported elsewhere we have an average of nearly 400 more than them away from home this season.

They have been top or thereabouts all season, we have been pretty much bottom, losing every single league game away until Wycombe last time out.

Our plastic fans are only there for the glory.

After Saturday, I was kinda indifferent about tonight but I'm now hitting town early and getting on it. Plenty of old faces out for the afternoon. Honestly can't see this being as bad as Swindon's recent visit.

Estimating a crowd of over 16k now tonight. Shame it wasn't a Saturday fixture else could well have topped 18k.

That's the biggest disappointment with it being on a Tuesday night; we would've had a much better crowd on a Saturday.

Still 16,000 will be our highest attendance of the season so far and we'll have a sold out Club 1871 in addition to a close to full East Stand between Y21 and Y26. The North Stand will be relatively barren as usual, although that's partially due to the family section being underutilised for midweek games.

Clearly the typical day out for a football fan is: enter town via the station, volunteer at Launch Pad, check in with the job centre, get your jab at the drop-in centre, volunteer at the Salvation Army, go to the game, smash up the civic offices, get arrested and go to the police station, get sentenced at the Magistrates Court and have to go to the probation centre as part of the sentence, before heading back to the station to go home.

In terms of the team, hopefully Dorsett will be available tonight. Would go for something like this:

Button
Yiadom - Bindon - Abbey - Dorsett (Mola if not available)
Craig - Wing
Vickers - Knibbs - Azeez
Smith

Subs: Pereira; Holmes, Mbengue; Savage, Elliott; Mukairu, Ehibhatiomhan

Didn't realise Reading had it's very own version of cape canaveral.

Also "engaging in anti-social behaviour or likely to do so" so that can be anybody at anytime then?

You can shove the Premiership and Chumpionship up your arse!! This is the most excited i've been for a Reading game in years. First went to Elm Park in 1979 v Crewe and was hooked ever since.
I'm 55 now and all my best memories of Reading FC were in the lower leagues battling these guys!! We have had some amazing times over the years but there's nothing like the hatred of a real local derby to get the hairs standing up on the back of your neck!!

This game is 20+ years in the making and i wouldn't be suprised if it all kicks of tonight before and after the game. Here's hoping that the team can turn up and put one over on Oxford to at least give us fan's local bragging rights for a little bit longer Urrrrrzzzzzzzzz :D

Oxford fans seeing a stadium with four stands (and corners!) will be like dropping cavemen into Manhattan.

On their forum they seemed to be waiting for instructions from Thames Valley Police as to which pub they can drink in
