Snowflake Royal Normally you wouldn’t want to push games into a massive bunch in Feb/March, but more we have later when we might actually have a half competent owner and manager, the better.

Or there will be some sales in January and our squad is weaker afterwards.

Wish we could sell the owner.

Sutekh Don’t you need three players out to be able to postpone games? Reading could give themselves a complete rest in January.

Hmm interesting point, am guessing there is zero president for L1 side losing 3 players to a mid-season tournament.
In theory, we could not play a League game after Exeter until the match at Oxford.

I think it may just be tough luck, can't remember any championship games called off due to Afcon 2 years ago...

Fair play, may well do him good to go away for a bit.

Can't see it being much weaker.
The players likely to go for any money or at the higher end of the wage bill are either in positions we have cover or aren't playing much.
Vickers - barely playing
Holmes - loads of CBs
Bindon - loads of CBs
Abbey - loads of CBs
Is anyone going to pay much for Smith? Wing? Button? Not likely for a Championship club and L1 clubs can't afford to.

Any players who are sold are likely to be our better players. Azeez and Ehibhatiomhan would be two obvious ones.
With our financial position, and an uninterested owner, a few clubs might test the water with bids that an owner who cared would reject, but Dai might accept for the quick cash.

Firstly, anyone who doesn't have a release fee triggered would need Dai to sign off on a sale. He's not interested. And he turns down sales for our better players out of pride when he is interested.
Even if that isn't an obstacle:
Our better players are Azeez, Wing, Smith, Button and Abbey. Abbey we can afford to sell as we're well stocked at CB.
Wing has been around long enough he's not going to be attracting the sort of interest that would persuade us to sell. Same as Button.
What Championship club is going to spend seven figures on Smith? Or Azeez? Why would we sell them cheap?
Ehibhatiomhan isn't going to get any interest bar Championship Academies. He's barely playing. Which means he's not exactly an immediate loss to the first team either.
I'll be astonished if we lose anyone crucial to the first team in the transfer window.

Dai turned down sales previously because he presumably still thought getting to the premier league was an option. That doesn't seem to be the case any more, so he just wants rid.
Clubs higher up might see us as being in the same boat Cambridge were when we got Kitson for a steal, and offer prices lower than would normally be accepted. If Dai no longer cares, and just wants cash in, he's more likely to accept a low deal. They wouldn't need to be offering seven figure prices.
