Vickers is annoying to lose but not a disaster to our best XI, hopefully someone else from the U23's can step up potentially, I think we could use a left sided wide player.

Azeez, Knibbs, Smith or Wing or a combination of the four would probably relegate us.

We don't really need a lot of depth at the back.

Yiadom, Mbengue, Bindon, Holmes and MoLOLa all played RB plus Abrefa.

All of them except Abrefa, plus Dean, Hutch and Dorsett can play CB.

Dorsett, Mbengue, Yiadom, MoLOLa and Carson have played LB.

That's about 10 defenders for four positions.

Striker on the other hand is Smith, Ehibhatiomhan who isn't getting time and Wareham who I think is yet to play a league minute.

Brogue Zane Monnlouis arsenal u23 captain rumoured to be one of the loanees we are looking at

This is what I mentioned earlier. Another kid with no experience. If Holmes gets an injury, do we really want him pairing Bindon? Or would we better giving Dean another chance now we're a settled, better performing team?

we ain't getting anyone in who has experience. if this guy costs us nothing in wages, we've lost nothing. we haven't a pot to piss in, this is the best we can do.

We've lost minutes developing one of our own players for the future.

We put 5 past him ffs.

Big fat no thanks from me.

Another one I won't be too fussed with - came in with a bang and gone backwards.

Another player misused by Selles.

Maybe or not quite as ready for mens football as hoped. In normal times, I doubt he would have seen half the minutes he got this season. Definitely got the potential to be a very good player though.

Akinde and Okine-Peters I see frequently starting for the U23's. I have absolutely no idea how close they are to first team ability though, if they ever will be.

As of 3.30pm UK - we have still only lost Abbey from our strongest XI.

Team/squad for Saturday as it stands

Button

Yiadom
Holmes
Bindon
Dorsett

Savage/Craig
Wing
Knibbs
Mukairu
Azeez

Smith

Bench: Pereira, Mola, Ehibhatiomihan, Mbengue, Hutchinson, Craig/Savage, Eliott

Bench not as strong but it's still OK - guess if the Arsenal kid comes in, he takes a bench spot.

To be fair, will be amazed if that is still the squad by the end of the day.

Based on what I've seen of him, Wellens is an attacking midfielder in a general sense - can play centrally, on either wing, or as a second striker. I think he's got the ability to play a bit deeper as well.

Really depressing time to be an RFC fan losing young starts like Vickers Abbey and Harris. The future of the club being sold off for peanuts. What a disgrace. However, we might just about get away with these sales and survive in League 1 - but if we also lose Azeez to Plymouth as well (let alone the possibility of Knibbs and Smith) it is hard to see us surviving this season.

Akande meant to be decent I think. Tuma looks good but doesn’t seem to play that often (due to school etc?)

Thing that concerns me as well as surely the club is becoming less attractive if we’re selling off our best youngsters? Is this just Dai moving goalposts again?

To be honest, very little that happens in the pitch will determine whether the club survives. And its having a club that matters, not L1 or L2.

Although of course L2 would be damaging. We'd still have a club capable of recovering over a l9nger term.

No sale and we'll end. Even with a very successful phoenix club we'll probably never play in the top 2 tiers again.

Though we’re a far more attractive purchase in div1

Go down again and Dai has to drop his asking price…that’s gone well so far

Yep agree, having a club matters. I'd rather go down to L2 and complete a sale of the club rather than stay in L1 with the same owner to be honest at this point.

If its not done before the end of the season it doesn't matter, and we've barely been out of the relegation zone, so anyone currently interested has to be on the probability we're in L2 next season and staying up is a happy bonus.

Don't worry, the second simply isn't an option. We just cease to exist with Dai, stay or drop.

Wouldn’t say L2 is a probability. Yet anyway

It's got to be at best a coin toss at the moment.

Disagree. Club gets sold much more easily in L1. Ideally we'd be mid table by March and Dai gone by May. If we're in a relegation battle up to the last day, it makes a deal very hard to agree. Perhaps we'd have been sold already if we weren't bottom of the league last time we got a load of offers in.
