rabidbee Black boots should be mandatory.

I would have said the same thing a few years ago. At one time only Alex Pearce wore black boots, and it fitted his solid no-nonsense style.

Now black boots just look like the equivalent of having to do PE in your underwear because you forgot your kit.

Colourful boots also aid in differentiating players who otherwise look alike and you're sat in row Z.

Black boots seem a bit more popular with the kids again at the moment. Even Jnr II who used to be keen on god awful coloured boots has a black pair at the moment. Still can't convince him that a nice pair of leather boots would protect his feet a lot better than a flimsy piece of plastic with a fabric tongue.

Jnr I is 6, so he wears what he’s given, which is a pair of black boots, decorated with black Addidas stripes (tbf, I would have got white stripes if they had had his size). As he already wins the most tackles and likes to throw the odd elbow, the very much suit his style.

Meanwhile Jnr II is 4, and wears lime-green boots, which definitely reflects her style of lazily walking back towards her own goal behind the play, with her hands in the pocket of her hoody.
