Is that a league record or a professional football record?

An interesting article on the Athletic today that Notts Forest have included an academic graduate in every matchday squad (including bench) since WW2. A few criteria:

- Must have been signed by the club before they were 18
- Must have played in at least one youth category (not just reserves)
- Forest must have been their first permanent professional club (signing a teenage dropout from elsewhere counts given that would be pre- professional age).

I'd be interested to know how we compare recently. Could we go as far back as our first PL relegation in 2008? Just trying to break it into eras:

2008 - 2013 or so had Karacan, HRK, Pearce, McCarthy, Sigurdsson and Church.

2013 - 2016 had some continuity with above, plus Jake Cooper, Hector and Obita

2017 - 2019: Kelly, McIntyre, Holmes, Richards, Obita (still), Rinomhota.

2019 - now: Olise, McIntyre, Holmes, Richards and more recently a whole batch breaking through.

I would expect the years of greatest risk would be the Stam years where a promising generation were sold elsewhere, but the presence of Obita and Kelly probably saw at least one of them in every squad.

I'm not sure if Shane Long meets all criteria.

Seems high given our last 10 years, but I guess even prior to the 1990's we were usually at the top end of the league, 1970's we were mainly in the 4th tier and always top end and in 1980's similarly in third tier.

Birmingham City's relegation got my thinking, they can be added to the list of teams I've seen us play in the top 3 tiers. Having followed the club closely since 99/00 or so, the list currently includes Wigan, Bolton, Charlton, Stoke, Portsmouth, Derby and Swansea to my memory.

Got me thinking, we must have played some of them in the 4th tier too. How long would that list be? And has anyone on here seen us play the same club in 4 tiers?

One in the eye for those sides who've never been bad enough to have to play in divisions 3 and 4.

The Football League Trophy being the ASSOCIATE MEMBERS CUP and the Simod Cup being the FULL MEMBERS CUP and Wolves can't win that until the PL/FL decide to bring it back.

Haven't Notts County won division 2, division 3, division 3S, division 3N, division 4 and the FA Cup or something? Reading have won divisions 2, 3, 3S and 4 so just need the PL now to collect their full set and then they can get down to concentrating on the cups.
