Looks like Mukairu and Abrefa in for Ehib and Yiadom respectively. No Yids on the bench, but John Ryan appears for the first time.

I’m fairly certain he’s a full back, but can’t remember if he’s a left-back or right-back. I think the former.

John Ryan has 2 good feet so can play either full back position- also can play further up pitch in wide midfield.

Fantastic. Would be good to see him get a go, even if it’s not today. Wonder if he’ll be considered to come on out wide, instead of Ehib or Elliott, if he can play higher up.

Smith could have had a brace if people actually passed to him instead of going for glory.

Yeah, Mukairu in particular needed to set him up.

But 1-0 so no damage done yet. :D

Defence is a bit chaotic. They're getting exposed a fair bit on the counter. And not clearing their lines brilliantly.

Elliott's been going to the Harvey Knibbs school of stealing the ball high up the pitch.

Having a good game.

As it stands, not mathematical safe and won't be even if we grab a winner.

I'm not too worried about other results, think the Bristol Rovers game sealed it for me.

I really don't rate Mukairu. He's just not very good. Too many mistakes and poor decisions. Surely not here next season, so why is he playing at this stage?

Mid Sussex Royal
South Coast Royal
Snowflake Royal For me:

Pereira
Abrefa, Mbengue, Bindon, Mola
Wing, Elliott
Azeez, Knibbs, Ehibhatiomhan
Smith

Button, Dorsett, Carson, Rushesha, Savage, Mukairu, Wareham

With Carson and/or Rushesha getting 20 minutes.

In fact this would be my next three teams.

Pereira
Yiadom, Bindon, Dorsett, Mola
Wing, Savage
Azeez, Elliott, Ehibhatiomhan
Smith

CBC, Mbengue, Carson, Rushesha, Knibbs, Wareham, Camara

Pereira
Yiadom, Mbengue, Bindon, Carson
Wing, Craig
Azeez, Knibbs, Camara
Ehibhatiomhan

Button, Dorsett, Mola, Senga, Wareham, Smith, Mukairu

Something like that anyway.

Agree with the middle team Ian as I would like to see Dorsett in what is supposed to be his best position.

One memory of Barnsley from the Elm Park days-we scored 6 in front of a watching Michael Parkinson who was embarrassed enough to suggest that the players ought to make a visit to a coal mine to see what real work was like. :D
A bit Barnstonworth United from Ripping Yarns fondly remembered by some of our older posters.

I think you may mean the 7-0 game which was our last match of the 1970's.

Allan Clarke was the Barnsley manager.

And, apparently, when they got back Clarkey arranged a day trip to a local mine for the players....

Surely Port Vale 2 - Exeter 0 also warrants a mention!
