I blame Nicky Shorey for this, all that attacking he does had compacted the RH side, preventing the water draing into the pitch. grrrr

But the effing rugger b*ggers still want to play on the pitch and mess it up even more tomorrow!

At first Radio Berks announced it had been called off but presumably the rich kids threw their toys out of the pram and refused to let RFC to protect the pitch by making that decision.

Now there's an inspection by the egg chase inspector tomorrow at 9.00am. As the hippos that play that sport like nothing better than wallowing in the mud you can be pretty sure that the game will go ahead, thus ensuring that the pitch is well and truly effed up for Tuesday and beyond.

If the rugby goes ahead tomorrow I for one will not be happy. The pitch needs at least a couple of days to drain, and if you get a rugby match played on the surface as it is at the moment it will completely ruin it for the rest of the season.

It's already been postponed.

As I said, I suspect RFC tried to call it off and our squatters objected!

If that is the case then they need kicking out.

Shameful if their game goes ahead tomorrow because it will chew up the pitch beyond repair.

Steve Coppell I would like the decision makers to call off tomorrow's rugby match. Obviously I'd be happier if there wasn't a rugby club sharing the ground. We don't see them and there's no cross-interference at all. You don't need a tremendous surface to play rugby but you do need a fairly flat pitch, hopefully with a bit of grass on it, to play football.

Coppell has expressed his concern at using the Stadium alongside London Irish with talks under way to extend the groundshare contract beyond its expiry date of 2010  ... is this the beginning of the end for London Irish at the Madejski?

Might I suggest that the ground staff put the sprinklers on at about 7.00am tomorrow?!

I thought the pitch look much worse that when I saw it last Saturday, I assume there was a LI game last Sunday that had buggered it up.

No complaints about calling it off today, but I felt pretty sorry for the Burnley fans that had treked 240 miles for nothing.

If they came on the Burnely Supporters' Club coaches they won't have to pay again. Burnley SC are members of the FSF and so have travel insurance through the FSF for such eventualities (same as STAR do!)

Those who came on the train or by car are out of pocket though!

If LI do play on the pitch tomarrow, there may only be the option of relaying the pitch but there may not be enough time before Tuesday's game. I don't think that the pitch will pass the pitch inspection but I guess some people will try and dig some more holes in the ground. If anyone still has the memory of the pitch invasion last year, the pitch was very slippery (nearly fell over twice), and considering the weather from this year to last year, the playing surface may almost be unplayable before the end of the season because of the Reading games, London irish games and reading reserves.

Its bad enonght having the Irish playing on it but i dont see the point in the reserve team playing on it in the winter months. It just makes it worse.I think the premiership should bring in a rule that means clubs can;t ground share in the top flight.

The owners of the ground will hopefully say...

Would never ever ever ever ever ever happen (during the season).
