Any news on Murty, Sonko and Bryn?

by Philly Flyer » 03 Jan 2007 13:49

Nothing yet posted on the OS. I heard on MOTD that Murts was due a scan yesterday. Does anyone have any news on the outcome and the extent of the injuries to Superman and Bryn?

Can only advise what today's EP says of our injuries (both Dave Kitson and Bobby Convey are likely to be involved ithe Burnley game in some capacity);

"...Graeme Murty (groin) is a doubt, but he should be fit for the trip to Everton the following Sunday. John Halls is sidelined with a back problem.

Brynjar Gunnarsson (hamstring) and Ibrahima Sonko (hip) should be fit...

What about Aaron Brown, is he still unfit/recouperating?

Recently rejoined training I believe, could possible play a part...

Golbourne has had a slight ankle strain over xmas, not sure if he's fully recovered yet and Peter Mate is crocked for the rest of the season...

BTBB, many thanks. Sounds pretty promising and with Arteta out and the possibility of Kits and Bobby being available and on the bench after a run out against Burnley we have a good chance of avoiding the "double". :D

Sonko's out but doesn't sound serious:

Reading will be without Ibrahima Sonko for the clash against Burnley as the player struggles with a hip injury.
The central defender picked up the injury during the 6-0 rout against West Ham and although it is not serious, the problem will keep him out of the FA Cup tie against the Clarets.
It is hoped, however, the player will be fit for the trip to Everton on January 14.

"I think I stretched my hip," Sonko revealed. "It's sore at the moment but we've got a couple of weeks before the next Premiership game which is good.

"I think I'll focus on that rather than try and rush myself back for Burnley. It will also give somebody else a chance who hasn't played as much as I have this season."
