Promising start from the lads but Pompey progressively took up the initiative and arguably lucky to escape with a point. No one really stood out but Ingi was pretty reliable so he gets my nod.

71:45 Foul by Nicky Shorey(Reading) on Nwankwo Kanu(Portsmouth). Michael Duberry(Reading) booked for unsporting behaviour. Free kick curled right-footed by Niko Kranjcar(Portsmouth) from right channel (20 yards), missed right.

Although it looked like he'd booked Duberry, I assumed it was for Shorey for pulling Kanu's arm back. Not clear at all on the Asian TV coverage why Duberry would have been booked.

Doyle looked the best Reading player on the pitch when he came on (all too late I felt) but as his name doesn't feature and he wasn't on long enough anyway, I've gone for Mr Steady, II. Another calm and from what I could see, near faultless display from him.

The fact that this thread is still on page one says a great deal about today's match. I feel like I've been robbed of 90 minutes of my life.

I can't be arsed to read all through this - who has been selected as the scapegoat for today?

Not as if there's a great deal to read. :? Why does there need to be a scapegoat? There'll always be atleast one match per season like today's. It was pretty dull, but I don't think anybody's particularly to blame for that.

My MOTM is probably Campbell, he kept them in the game in the first half with some great tackles.
