Yesturday while i was working at tesco's on the checkouts none other than Ian Wright himself came to my till to buy his shopping. Being the polite young man i am, made conversation with the legend and he told me he had just argeed to be a Reading coach for the rest of the season ! fantastic news! maybe next year we'll see his son's joining the mighty blues !

From the OS:

Ian Wright's name was linked with the Royals recently, and Steve Coppell has explained that the former Arsenal striker is welcome at our training ground whenever he wants.

Some media incorrectly reported that Wright was to become a coach for the Royals, but Coppell said, "I've had an open invite for Satch to come down for many years.

"I keep saying to him if he wants to come down and do a forward session.

"He always says yes, but I know he never will!

"He's too busy, I think he's out in South Africa at the moment playing golf!"

The confusion over Wright's link with Reading came about when he visited Madejski Stadium as a TV pundit for the FA Cup replay with Manchester United.

Our online TV station Reading World interviewed Wrighty after the game, and he said he would like to come to our Hogwood Park training ground to see his mentor Coppell and join in with the lads.

Leroy Lita watched this interview on Reading World, and said in a later interview with local press that he would love it if Ian were to come down, as he would be delighted to pick up some tips from a goalscoring legend.

This story was then picked up nationally, and somewhere along the way it was reported that Wright would be joining us semi-permanently, which was never the case.
