Hob Nob End of season awards

by AbovetheI » 30 Apr 2007 23:56

Here's a few awards to get us going, i'm sure we can think of more sensible ones as a collective unit.

Player of the season
Most improved player
Best signing
Goal of the season
Match of the season
Result of the season

Any more?

Player of the season - IVAR INGIMARSSON
Most improved player - STEPHEN HUNT
Best signing - good q!! I'd say De La Cruz probably, if we are talking value for money and he has rarely let us down. I'm a fan of Doobs and Bikey too.
Goal of the season - SEOL v West Ham, DE LA v Sheff Utd 2nd.
Match of the season - READING 6 - 0 WEST HAM
Result of the season - See Above!!!

We should all contribute a couple quid and have something mounted on a lump of wood for the hobnob player of the season

Player of the season Stephen Hunt by a country mile.

Most improved player Leroy Lita, probably because I didn't think he could cut it at this level, but he's proved me wrong.

Best signing Andre Bikey. Stepped in when Sonks got injured and has done a brilliant job. Glad he's signed for us.

Goal of the season Seol v Sheffield Utd. Some good football up to the magnificent shot.

Match of the season Reading 2-3 Man Utd. After conceding 3 goals in 6 minutes, we bravely fought back and had Sir Alex shitting himself.

Result of the season Reading 6-0 West Ham. Best game i've been to at the Madejski.

I can't see how you can possibly say Stephen Hunt is player of the year 'by a country mile'

He'd be third in my voting after Shorey and Ingimarsson...

'a country mile' though?

Ingimarsson, Shorey, Sidwell, Doyle?

in your opinion you say Hunt has been better, that's all well and good but 'country mile'???

I love Hunty but it will be like having a new signing with Bobby back next year. Looking forward to the rivalry on the left...

Player of the season - Shorey (if Doyle had been healthy, he would have surely deserved it)
Most improved player - Hunt (although I'd prefer Convey)
Best signing - De La Cruz
Goal of the season - Seol at West Ham
Match of the season - Today's match verse Newcastle...three points closer to Europe!
Result of the season - Chelsea away (West Ham was playing horrific football at that point, 6-0 is a good win, but...it was against a horrible team).

Good point - regarding the West Ham game - thought Chelsea was an amazing effort by the lads and really showed we were gonna fight. It also came at a crucial time after the disappointing home losses vs. Everton and Blackburn. If we didn't get the result against Chelsea we could have slipped towards the zone, as it is we may get into Europe! Mental!!!
