Would you welcome Sidwell back?

by Gus the teenage cow » 22 Nov 2007 18:33

I am not sure if I would be happy to see him return here. We could definitely use him and there is no doubting his talent but after the manner in which he left and some of his comments about needing to support his family(when he was already on 15k a week!!!!-how many illegitimate kids does he have???) and how basically he managed his exit I would have to say a resounding "thanks but no thanks"

They say never go back to an old love so I instead would try and sign someone else

Koumas or Giles Barnes or Huddlestone orSmertin or Donati or Marvin Elliot or whoever

I would have Sidwell back without any shadow of a doubt.

Yes. He took a gamble going to Chelsea, thus far it hasn't really worked out (shock) but I respect his reasons for going as I don't think it was purely financial. He's always flogged his guts out for Reading, even when he knew he wouldn't be here any longer and has been a class act for the club. The hole he's left is massive and he could comfortably fill it

if you mean by that that the hole in our midfield(patrolled by an ageing eskimo and an overrated one-paced chav) is as big as Jordan (the country) then I'd agree with you

Not had this discussion for at least 24 hours have we !!

No reason for Sidwell to come back - he's done well at Chelsea.

I haven't for a while.

It all depends under what circumstances. Chelsea continue to pay his inflated wages but he comes in for half a season to shore up midfield as a short term fix before next summer's transfer dealings . Yes.

We pay a few million and break the wage structure to have him back. No thanks.

Of course I would, he's pure class. Not going to happen though, but he might come here on loan so that he can show himself as the good player he is to potential employers and at the same time help us to keep our place in the Prem, so that we can then fortify the team properly.

What a daft question. I'd welcome any player that improved the quality of our squad.

But only if he fit in with the side. Anelka would improve the quality but I still wouldn't want him

Not for all the tea in china, didn't rate him as to much better than Gunnar with the same ability to vanish for half a season!

Get someone who can add something meaningful to our side!
