team for Villa

by LUX » 05 Jan 2008 21:04

very pleased with today's display, but Villa is a vital game (they all are, I know  ) .

Will Coppell promote some of today's stars? What is the news on Duberry, we risk being REALLY short on CBs?

The replacement for Sonko will be the ONLY change.

I'd love to say Pearce, but probably something silly like Cisse.

He didn't look too clever after the injury, wait and see I guess.

answering my own question, I've just read the match report on the OS and it says he hobbled off but that it is not too serious.

Doobs didn't look good did he?

If it's anything that's going to keep him out and we start to look very thin.

If he's injured then a centre half really needs to be signed and quickly. But we all know how easy that won't be.

No he didn't looked like his knee and he's not the sort of player who goes down to manipulate.

I'd guess Bryn would be Coppell's choice to fill in at centre half, from the current squad.

I agree. I think Gunnarson moves to CH and Cisse plays again in a midfield partnership with Harper.

Bryn's done his 3 and will be available for the Villa game.

In order, Coppell's realistic options to play alongside Ingimarsson are...

Michael Duberry (assuming his 'injury' turns out to be nothing to worry about)
Brynjar Gunnarsson
Recall Sam Sodje
Recall Alan Bennett
Alex Pearce
Buy another centre half (as we should have been looking for one anyway this could be not quite so far away)

We will sign a top centre-half this week chaps, relax.

Bryn at centre-back with Cisse in midfield = home win banker for your coupon
