Great decision IMO.

Pleased.

The chairman would have been linched had he not awarded Murts one. Fully deserves it!

The only downside (and this isn't having a go at the club) is that the testimonial is going to be a pre-season friendly and so a lot of fans will be on holiday - I'd much rather it were scheduled just after the season finishes (as with Parky's).

Though nobody would deny Murts has been a good servant to the club , the thought though of any premiership footballer having a testimonial to benefit their already swollen bank account is lamentable . I hope like others players before, Murts will donate if not all , then a big percentage of what he makes from the game to charity . No player on premiership wages needs a testimonial .

Gunny Fishcake ... No player on premiership wages needs a testimonial .

Murty's brief premiership career is almost over and he's got hopefully another 50 years to live. Also, who can say what today's wages will really be worth in 20 years time? I don't begrudge him making all he can right now.

Also, if you read the OS, it says that part of the proceeds will be given to charity,

For all we know that could be 2% 8) Dont think it really matters bottom line is he is deserving of a testimonial and it also probably signifies the end of him at right back in a reading shirt next season!
