So here we are on the 20th May 2008...
...the dice have been thrown and the Emperor has tempted Steve Coppell to serve our faithful club for another year. However darkness approaches as the four horseman approach Reading FC, they are known as Cloth who represents cutting the excess fat from the club by the huge blue and white scissors wielded by the Emperor, Humpty who represents the fool Hammond, Foolish who represents the fools gold that we try not to spend and finally the Despair who represents the hopes of the fans washed away.
Together, Cloth, Humpty, Foolish and Despair will look to bring down the club and our knight in shining armour is Steve Coppell will save us, but caution needs to be taken.
We need to fear Cloth as the Emperor has already said that fat will need to be cut (along with his hair). I just hope that Steve Coppell has a say in this before the mad man on crutches cuts something that was actually important...
We need to fear Humpty as the fool did not fall on his sword as he should have done and god forbid he starts to put his beak in with regards to future blue and white warriors. Leave it it Steve.
We need to fear Foolish as he likes Cloth and clearly has no more gold to spend and I am waiting to hear the Emperor come up with some cock and bull story as we could not buy X, Y and Z due to cheaper season tickets!
Finally we need to fear Despair which will come in the name of those fools at BBC who write in their columns putting us down and that is really what pisses Thou Voice off as they write behind their silly little columns and give the fans no way in hell to reply. Grow so balls and come and post your daft and silly predictions here...
...it will be a long season and a good season and Thou Voice will put his money where is mouth is and when paid, place a £500 bet that Reading FC will be back in the Premiership after next season.
I believe that Steve Coppell will guide us through this coming season and we will not have the success that we had last time in the fizzy pop league, but we will survive and also get ourselves promoted.
To all those that I pissed off in my attitude at the beginning of the year, I would not take back those comments as I stand by them during the fragment of time that they were posted in. However I am man enough to admit that people change and develop and Steve Coppell could admit mistakes etc and he is a good enough manager to learn from what went wrong. So in hindsight, I was wrong too.
I believe he will not let last season haunt us and this will be his personal payback from walking away from Palace to prove that he can make things work on the bounce. This man will live up to his name as a Legend, no matter how much the four horsemen try to get in his way.
Roll on August.
