Tactical Insight

by Stuffed Crust Pizza » 17 Sep 2008 13:12

While browsing the pictures from last night's match, this one in particular interested me.

It would appear our 100% home record is down to the sound advice given from the whiteboard in the dressing room. If only we could apply the same tactics to our away games, we could beat 106!

Home games: clean sheet, score goals, win games

Perhaps the club ought to invest in a portable whiteboard to take to away games.

There is a printed sheet that is put up on the wall in the dressing room for away games, or at least there was last season when I was in it.

A lot more on it than that too. More like "the steps to success" than the obvious.

What we need is the car park crew to start a demonstration to get this white board taken to away games.

Well there we have the secret behind our failure ........ "the steps to success" - far too complicated a concept for your average intellectually challenged professional footballer!

It was bullet point style rather than continuous prose!

Probably by one of the psychologists that Kits mentioned.

If it runs to more than four bullets, it's probably still sufficient to confuse at least half the members of an average professional football team!

Don't forget that our current (acting) captain has been known to experience difficulty in keeping track of the score in a 45 minute half that wasn't even high scoring!
