Back from the Game - Birmingham

by LoyalRoyalFan » 20 Dec 2008 17:37

Just got back. Thought we were terrific today. James Henry showed us what a talent he can became. We played well against a Birmingham side i thought would play better. We controlled the midfield ,(apart from when Cisse gave away the ball for Phillips to score) we played well. Kevin Doyle is my man of the match for working very hard and creating numerous chances for Shane Long and Noel Hunt.

Ratings :

Federici - 7 - Made one or two good saves.
Rosenior - 7 - Came forward well and helped out at the back
Dubbery - 7 - Not as good as in previous matches. Didn't close down Phillips.
Ivar - 8 - Influenced the defence.
Armstrong - 8 - Made some good forward runs
S.Hunt - 8 - Dealt well with the pressure from the Bham fans to put in some good balls.
Harper - 7 - Alright game. Summed up by sliding out Gunnarson towards the end.
Cisse - 7 - Apart from giving the goal,he scored with a good header.
Henry - 8 - Made some good runs and crosses and dealt with the pressure well.
Doyle - 8 - My man of the match. Worked his socks off.
N.Hunt - 5 - Good freekick. Sad that he went off

Subs :

Long - 7 - Pressured the Bham defence.
Gunnarson - 6 - Not much time to impress.

Reading Fans - 7 - Good day out. Loud and proud when Birmingham weren't.

I think he deserves at least an 8. He saved us from going 2-1 down thanks to a brilliant save!
Sky replays showed Brum fans already celebrating...and then he saved it! Can we keep him for the rest of the season now please? 8)

He was good. That was a good save tbh. Didn't he get booked for dissent?

Hunt'll be alright, just delayed onset consussion causing problems with his vision. He stayed at the game and watched so it can't have been too serious. I don't expect him to be wearing a bucket on his head next time he plays.

BenReadingFC Noel Hunts Goal

Whoever was advising "back of the net, back of the net" did good.

Players clearly need good advice. Well done that man.

great performance and i will bullet point my views

- great turn out from #13, never stopped singing even when they equalized unlike the brum fans who are probably the most thickle supporters in the country imho

- harps and cisse again proved they are best midfield pairing

- WE PLAY BETTER WITH HARPS IN THE TEAM!

- henry really put himself about well, looked comfortable on the ball, this boy has a big future ahead of him

- federici's distribution was out of this world. pin point!

- Birminghams subsitutions were sponsered? anyone else find that really weird?

- we proved that brum are not a good team and have been riding their luck all season and got found out today

- Doyle is absolute quality! such an impressive performance

- nunty has clearly been taking set piece tips of shunty

- bryn did great when he came on and does such a good job for us wherever he is put and did well on the right, the man is quickly to into an rfc leg end and does not always get the credit he deserves

- and finally... BRUM WERE STUFFED LIKE A CHRISTMAS TURKEY

WHAT A DAY - We want our trophy back!

ho ho ho what a way to start christmas

have a good christmas fellow hobnobbers

Really good day out.Great result, Reading really are a pleasure to watch at the moment and some fans do not realise how lucky they are.The atmosphere was pretty good, although only kept going by alot of us at the back.I didn't join in with "we're winning away".This does not make any sense now considering we are pretty good away from home now.LOL at the shenanigans at New street.

"Thickle" - what a wonderful word. Presumably a cross between "thick" and "fickle". I like it.
hughsies no.1 - Birminghams subsitutions were sponsered? anyone else find that really weird?

Even wierder, so were Reading's, by the same sponsor, whether we liked it or not.
hughsies no.1 - and finally... BRUM WERE STUFFED LIKE A CHRISTMAS TURKEY

Chant of the day was undoubtedly:
"Stuffed like a turkey.
You're being stuffed like a turkey.
Stuffed like a tuuuuurkey.
You're being stuffed like a turkey."

Awesome game. Deserved the 3 points. The chavs at the back were a disgrace to Reading. You know who you are your not clever, and you should have all been thrown out.
Birminghams are the worst home fans iv ever seen. I cant remember them singing any song apart from "your not singing any more" when they equalised. All in all, Best Away game iv been to.
Got some pictures as well:
