Nothing m8, it's about Reading's dealdiest goalscorer, you have to admit 1 in 2 is fairly good?

Although Essien's record is exceptional it is over a very short period so I would go for Jamie Cureton.

Ollie Kearns scored about one goal in every two games.

Trevor Senior was the best, but to look at him, deadly would be the last word you would use.

For total goals scored Blackman is probably the winner, but for goals per game his immediate predecessor in the No 9 shirt, Tony McPhee, might have the edge I suspect.

I know of one Reading player with a 1 goal a game ratio. So none of the above.

Someone (strap?) put up a comparison for me a season or so ago, when I was arguing that Kitson was the best striker I've ever seen at the club.

I'm pretty sure you had to go a long way back to better him. He had pretty close to a goal every 2 games average. Clearly that's going to have dropped off a little now admittedly.

I think Strap's criteria was that you had to have played at least 10 games. Can't remember who topped it, think it was a guy I'd never heard of before.

I'd have to go with Jimmy Quinn or Jamie Cureton.

On my old Year of the royals video i enjoy watching Quinn's rockets during the 93/94 promotion season. His consolation goal in the Wembley defeat the following year was lethal as well, i guess it's not remembered so much as it counted for little but it was a rocket!!

As for Cureton - a real poacher in the box, banged in lots of goals, and for that lob against Brentford to put us up.
