Biggest piece of robbery?

by SCIAG » 10 Aug 2009 21:43

It was bought to my attention that we're very good at getting clubs to pay over the odds for our players. So, of those to leave in the past two years, which was the best deal for RFC?

All fees are as accuracte as possible, and I'm not including tiny sales or frees.

Hunt's fee is the most widely quoted amount, and Mr Brown, let me assure you that he's worth twice that.

Personally, Halford. Why was he worth an extra million after doing diddly squat?

Its hard to say really, I mean i've gone for Kitson but at the time he was being seriously touted for a England call up!

I mean looking back on how theyve done since leaving, Hunt looks a fair price!!!!!

Andy Hughes has to be.
As far as Fae goes is the £2m us being robbed?
I think it has to be Kitson as it was a big fee for a player with injury issues and who stated in interviews that he wanted to retire at 30 and was alredy nearly there.

Def Andy Hughes even though a small fee in comparison, it broke our previous mold, and led to a great re-organisation, culminating in promotion.

Kitson in retrospect. He didn't fit their style of play and has fitness, happiness and form problems since signing for them.

Sonko second it's not like he's done anything there either.

Halford next, good player who had his issues and somebody at Sunderland didn't do their research.

Hunt next, the rest were decent deals to be honest. Shorey hasn't settled well and was always going to be in danger at a top team. Fae was a good player for French football.

Kitson quite obviously. I think Doyle will prove a huge flop as well. Terrific lad, and in a very good Reading side that played above its means, he did well in the Premiership that first season. But in a poor to average Wolves team, the only impression he will make will be when he's back in the Championship.

Hughes was a massive LOL at the time. Never worth £250k, let alone £500k.

None of them seem to have quite lived up to their promise since leaving - yet. I wondered if that would make other clubs a bit wary about buying our players, but obviously not. Then again, maybe I'm just exagerating their skills in my head.

Definately kitson for me.

btw hunt hasnt even signed yet and is already in the list..hope hull fans give him slightly more time .. And doyle might be a be a very good signing for wolves. if he can recapture the form he showed before with 20 odd goals and helps wolves stay promoted it may have been reading that was robbed and not wolves.

How can Andy Hughes not be on the list? £500,000 for a player who can only run in straight line and can't pass, cross or shoot!
